JE Pistons
I was trying to find data on JE pistons on-line, but was unable to. I am curious about performance gains. Does anyone know what sort of power JE pistons can add to an otherwise stock 350 Chevy engine?
I mean, how much more power can one expect from JE Forged pistons as opposed to stock cast pistons? Let's say that the engine is a new Target GM 350, rated at 250 HP. Let's say that the compression for the JE pistons is approximately 11:1. How much more power would the engine be making with the Forged JE Pistons? Are JE the best? What do you think....

JE pistons are not designed for a stock engine, varying compression ratios are for cam selection/heads chosen, engine build type and fuel requirements, not exactly for a target 250HP engine.

I'm assuming you've already gone to www.jepistons.com
I use JE pistons in my race engine. You can use their cheaper SRP forged pistons for street engines.

JE pistons are a great high quality piston designed for ultrahighperformance use ie....racing, NOS applications, etc. Overkill in your application. If I remember correctly, Target motors have dished pistons and are dished in such a way that they don't make the best use of proper quench consepts. You need a good two eyebrow flat-top in a less expensive hyperuetectic or forging. While the block is bare, have it decked to piston top .015" below deck and use a good shim gasket with a .020" thickness. Now your set for a good cam and head combo with the money you saved on the pistons.
