acc carpets

Hey guys, just redoing my interior and got some new ACC carpets from classic.I had always heard these were supposed to be OEM quality stuff but they are nowhere near as thick and heavy as the factory originals. As soon as I picked up the box before I even opened I could tell.I doubt they are even half as thick and heavy as the factory originals. For the money stick with the factory carpets if there is any way to do it.Granted at this age it is tough to find them in any kind of shape, but if you can do it thats still the way to go.They look ok but I can't fathom them lasting for any length of time.Way too thin...

Replaced the carpet in a Corvette a couple years ago. Looked into factory carpet. One piece of the factory stuff was more money than the whole aftermarket kit. None of the aftermarket has the heavy rubber backing so I left the factory in when I could and put the new over top of it. That backing is a sound deadener and you hear the difference without it.

Quite right...you just have to figure on putting some external sound insulation like dynamat or something to make up the difference right from the start.Otherwise you will pretty much have no sound deadening left and the road noise will drive you crazy.

i was very happy with acc on my first carpet install. i'm currently in search of carpet and after recently finding out that they don't have a consistent color for their shades i have completely lost interest in any of the pre-molded carpets however this is only for the most picky of people.

for someone looking to redo their carpet, especially on a budget acc is great.

I've had my ACC carpet in for about 2 years & still have no complaints yet! Here's some pics of the carpet when I installed it.

I just installed an ACC carpet in my car, and was pretty glad about the weight-loss
