New Purchase: MAC Headers

Well I just recently ordered a set of headers from www.MACperformance.com was for an 86 trans am and these are just plain ugly... It appears they used a mig welder on the collectors, still little peices of wire feed sticking out on the welds, the inside of the collector are just flat out ugly, and after i looked a little harder I could see day light through some of their welds. After paying $486 for these I am rather disappointed as im going to have some work to do to them before they are even ready for bolt on. I will be posting pictures tomorow if anyone is still interested.

I'm interested in the pics.... not that I'm going to buy any, but I've always wondered how the Mac headers were. They look good in their pics, but I guess getting a set (as you have done) is the real test. It is really sad to hear that they have holes in their welds.

That it sad to hear. I have always heard great things of the Mac headers. Their y-pipe design is on par with Hooker and SLP.

i bought a set of mac headers 2 months ago for my 89 formula and they were very nice looking and real easy to go in and the really helped power out alot so maybe they sent you a mock up set or just a bad pair

I have installed two sets of MAC headers on 4th gens and were really impressed with the quality and fitment. Sorry to hear the third gens weren't the same.
