The HSR needs a separate coil - not the in-cap type. The "normal" HEI cap is too large, you won't be able to get the upper plenum on.

You'll also need assorted vacuum line hardware and the pieces to connect the fuel lines to the stock lines. Check out stealthram.com and the info on this website for all the details.

- the older style(coil-in-cap) HEI won't work. You need the remote coil dizzy - do a search or check the above web-site. The swap has been covered many times.

It sounds like you did a remote coil conversion to the stock distributor - am I correct? The small and large cap distributors are two different parts - just taking the coil out of the cap will not change anything (if that's what you did).

You need one that looks like this:

Pro-Billet EFI Ready-to-Run, PN 8366, PN 8367

Yes, you just need to trim the bracing away. I did it with a dremel, took 15 minutes.

I wound up having to buy a new hood for my Z (damn poly motor mounts...). I've heard both ways on the Firebirds / TA's, as they have a lower profile than the Z's - some fit and some don't.

Hopefully your will fit with some trimming..... If not, a small cowl hood will clear (mine's a 2" scoop).

Good Luck
