so i want a good set of cast iron heads..I was thinkin about iron eagle heads or the pro topline iron lightning heads..If I go aluminum i want afr's bottom line i want to kno which set of heads will be the best set of heads for a 383 on the street to make 550hp or more and spend around $1100

You really want to go with aluminum heads, and run about 10.0 to 10.5:1 compression ratio. Also, you will most likely want 195cc intake ports, minimum. But for $1100, you cant buy the AFRs new, you will have to find used AFRs. For new heads, logon to SUMMIT RACING and check out the Trick Flow heads.

Iron heads are worth the money and if you aren't going to port them then they are even better. Aluminum heads are great, but more costly, for $1100 I agree the TFS heads are a good choice.
