Re: Summit lowering springs?

Hi,
I buy most of my stuff from Summit. They are basically 15 miles down the road. However I called the tech support about these springs. The guy was an idiot. He gave me no more info about these springs than was available online, and he told me if I was worried about things like spring rates and quality, I should buy something else.

Re: Summit lowering springs?

From what i have heard from other people summits tech reps can be dumarses. They sell great products, the just dont hire the best tech guys. I was going to use these but decided to keep my car a drag car only.

Re: Summit lowering springs?

They're priced right compared Eibach. I have used Summit brand parts before without any problems. I used to be in retail long ago and I know most retailers don't want to carry a line of product that's going to give them problems; especially if there name is on it. I was just wondering if anyone used these springs and had any problems.

I have to agree. Never have had an issue with Summit's stuff. It's like comparing generic drugs to namebrand. Samething, cheaper cost. Try emailing Summit's tech support department. I've gotten nothing but good info from them that way. Over the phone, they do tend to sometimes be a little dee dee dee.

Re: Summit lowering springs?

Try searching canuck motorsports on ebay. They're cheaper and have a lifetime warrenty. I haven't used them but a couple of people have from this site have. I can't remember who they are off hand. I know it's someone with an ls1 and they used the v6 springs with great results.

Re: Summit lowering springs?

If you're looking for good lowering springs for a good price, look for Dropzone springs... I currently have a set on my Trans Am and they've been pretty great. I've had them for a couple of months now. The car does feel a bit more solid (I don't have SFC yet)...

Re: Summit lowering springs?

I wish Jamex springs were still available in the US. They were cheap, lowered the right amount and gave it a good ride. Where is a good spot to get the Dropzone springs?

Re: Summit lowering springs?

350crate, so you have used them? Did you notice a difference in the ride? I have the stock WS6 supension so I want a firm ride and a lower stance without being too harsh.

Re: Summit lowering springs?

I have the Canuck Motorsports springs on my firebird. The reason I bought them was they are the only people who are making lowering springs for the v6 (to the best of my knowledge.) I've had them for about a year and I have no complaints whatsoever. I'm getting readt to do the suspension on my 86 camaro and its between CM and Summit.

Yea I have themand like the ride quality. It's pretty close to stock maybe a lil bit firmer, drops the car a nice even amount too. it's a mild drop though , they don't slam the car

Yeah, that's what I am looking for- a slight drop in height and a ride close to stock. I think I am going to order up a set!

Re: Summit lowering springs?

one of my buddies has the sportlines in an eclipse, (i know not an f-body) however, they have been in the car for over a year and i must say, those springs are exceptionally harsh after being broken in, even after installing new shocks and struts the car still loses so much handling capabilities from even small imperfections in the road..im just wondering if the pro kits and summit springs are the same way after being used and abused by todays under funded roads and highways....anyone here have them installed longer than 6 months? if so, how do they perform now?
