Re: air intake

no. Open Elements may allow more flow, but makes the engine take in hot air. You could get a functional cowl hood and then use an open element filter. That would probably be best. Or you can get a dual snorkle intake. These are rare and expensive so your best bet would be to make your own. Twice as much flow and cold air. Thats what i did on my LG4. Ill post a pic when i get a chance.

Re: air intake

I have a home made intake. My car is carbed but i think your should fit fine. The stock TBI aircleaner can be customized to have two intakes. Shouldn't change the way it sits.

Re: air intake

the "airbox" is the one that came on the car. The passanger side snorkle i got at the junk yard along with the plumbing to the front of the hood. I cut a hole and brazed the snorkle on. Then i cut and flipped the front of the passenger side ram air duct so it was sorta oposite of the stock one. Epoxy can do wonders. Its either that or you can find a different ram air piece from a different old car. But i like them looking about the same.

And yes it is definetly makes a difference. Mostly when the engine is at high rpms. It is said to make a .5 difference in the quarter.

You need to make sure you have a high-flow filter though. I took out my air filter when i was racing and ran .3 better. It was a crappy purolator. Get like a k&n or something.
