Re: BBK TPI Intake

That's 50hp on the 350, Right?

Even a 305 should benefit from that.

Re: BBK TPI Intake

peak to peak is only like 14hp, and a loss of torque down low, not really worth it. IMHO.

Re: BBK TPI Intake

But the thing is is that it should respond well to minor porting, as well as non-factory mods (heads, cam, all of it). It's designed to fill the niche market between factory parts and that $3000 custom intake setup that we all dream about.

Plus it uses factory parts (TB and Sensors) so it's an easy first swap. And at $699 for the whole thing and you can just swap all of your sensors, it makes it $200 more expensive than a set of AS&M Runners.

Search "Turtle Ram" on here as well as on Corvette Forums. The guy that's designing it has posted on a lot of forums and has gotten a lot of freedback. Much like Racecraft has for their 2" drop spindles. It's nice to see companies embracing our forum ways.

Re: BBK TPI Intake

Looks like a pretty cool setup. BBK makes some neat products. I have a BBK CAI on my C5 and it works great on a cool night
But back to the subject, any manufacturers claims on HP cut it in half.
I think it would be a great bolt on with a CAI, Cat back, headers and chip.

Looks cool too.

Re: BBK TPI Intake

it raised the powerband from 4000 rpm peak stock, to 4500 rpm peak power with the BBK

Thats a great gain. more area under the curve, that car will pickup even tho it only made like 9 hp more peak.

on heads/cam cars, this will show even better gains over long tube runner TPI setups

I cant wait till it comes out! I'm leaning towards getting a TPIS bigmouth intake with extrude-honed Edelbrock runners!

Re: BBK TPI Intake

Nice looking product.
looks and im guessing it might perform alot like the superram, lots of torque with a few hundred more rpms peak is hanging around 5000rpms... good for the streets.

Re: BBK TPI Intake

$699 is a long way away from the originally estimated price of $399. I say $399 I would consider it, but $699, I'll pass.

I'll save my money for the Stealth Ram when needed.

Re: BBK TPI Intake

Wonder how it will compare to a TPIS Mini-Ram? And how it will work with a big cam, aftermarket heads, headers, and bigger injectors and throttle body? Any thoughts on these questions?

Why not continue the discussion after it comes out if it ever does?

This thing has been in the works for how many years now? 10?
