Opinions on Heads...
Edelbrocks Victor Jr. 23* or TFS' new 23* Degree R that's coming out? The TFS heads r in the back of the Nov.-Dec. 2000 issue of Summit Racing and come with 210cc intakes 64cc chambers and up 2 2.08/1.60 valves with 1.550 springs good 4 .700 lift 4 $1,345. The Victor Jrs. come with 215cc intakes and 70cc chambers with 2.08/1.60 valves 4 $1,245. Edelbrock is claiming 540HP on a 360 ci, 12.5:1 engine out of the box. I e-mailed TFS 4 flow #s but they said none was available due 2 revisions on the heads. The regular 23*s were at about 250cfm @.500. I was gonna compare them 2 the Victor Jr. flow #s printed in Chevy High Performance magazine. So what do u think? Of course I'm not gonna use the TPI intake. It will either be a mini-ram, ProFlo type injection or carb.

I have a freind with a 383 and Victor Jr's, it runs really good, I would think they would be better. I also have a friend with a set of TFS heads and his car runs terrible. I don't know about the new heads but the old ones ran terrible on SBC. If it were me I would spend a couple hundred extra bucks and get a set of AFR heads, they run really well on SBC.
