Shifter cable

My oem cable for some reason broke after my engine swap, and i bought a replacement from autozone. I would expect a replacement part to do its job but it seems like all the aftermarket shifter cables dont work properly. Mine will shift down but not back up, so if im in drive it wont shift back into park. Anyone know of a replacement that works? If i can temember reading, they discontinued then at the dealer.

Re: Shifter cable

there have been numerous problems with aftermarket ones. I have a good used factory one that came out of my car when I installed the BM megashifter. You can PM me if interested in purchasing it.

Re: Shifter cable

I had similar problems but assumed it was due to the shift linkage that goes from the column to the trans. Because the Camaro has an in-cabin cable to do the same thing, I assumed it would have fewer problems with shift cables. Good luck.
