Running problem

Hey everyone im having a problem with my 5.0 TBi
i know i am running a cracked header, but the problem i have is
if you floor it under 2500 it hesistates
the weird thing is it pulls hard, BUT as soon as you hit about 2.5k to 2.7k
its like i floored it again like the power surge is abrupt. Its hard to discribe its not a normal smooth build of power. any ideas of what it could be?

You might get a better response if you would have posted this in either Tech/General Engine or the TBI section. Maybe a Moderator will move it for you.
