Ed Quay

Here is an email that I sent them regarding the headers I bought from them 2 weeks ago, they never replied. I paid 850.00 for the headers, I expected some challenges, but I would have been better to buy a header flange kit and tubes and make them myself, or spend the extra 400.00 and buy lemon stainless steel headers

I bought a set of header for my 86 Camaro with a big blockand just want to tell you how poorly they fit. I used your custom order sheetand talked to one of reps when I ordered them. On the passenger side, thecylinder 2 tube had to be cut, was hitting the oil pan and there was no way youcould get a starter in, I have the MSD mini starter, collector was hitting subframe. Drivers side, all tubes had to be cut, collector was hitting floor, could not even bolt on to motor because collector was hitting frame, also the header was hitting the block . I have to use remote oil filter because thereis no way you can get an oil filter out, it would have been just as easy tobuild a set myself. I was really surprised with the poor fitment of theseheaders, I was expecting a lot more with the name Ed Quay on them. Headers even came with a couple dents in themwhen I received them, but they were minor.

Re: Ed Quay

I have EQ's for my sbc in my car.
I had to change to solid motor mounts and cut the ears off of the trans to make mine fit. Other than that they were awesome.

I would phone them rather than an email if you have a problem.

Re: Ed Quay

Huh.

When my car had a BBC in it, I got rid of the hookers, and got a set of 2 1/4" Ed Quays. They fit like a glove.

Of course I had a standard deck height BBC. Is your a tall deck?

Re: Ed Quay

I am surpised to read these posts about a bad product from EQ. I bought the EQ master cylinder kit a few months ago. They modified the pedal as well. Was completed in about 2 weeks. I mounted it on the firewall and it was a perfect fit. Quay used a strange master cylinder so it is a good product. I have yet to test the brakes as I am still in the building stages of the project but I have no complaints about my EQ product so far.

18 hours at 92.00 and hour, now they are not going to charge me their full going rate, because he felt sorry for me. What pisses me off the most is they did not even respond to the emails I have sent them, called and they said that they would get back to me, never heard from them again

Why did you pay a shop to install them?

Because they did not fit and I don't weld, and they were doing the rest of the exhaust
