I just received one of these from Summit. It is pretty nice and fits really well. My only complaint is that it has a fairly coarse texture to the plastic. I feel it would look nice on any color car except black and I bought it for my black 91 Z28. I think I"m going to sand/prime/paint to match the car better. I'll post pics when its done.

I'm not super impressed with how they turned out but not bad. It is very difficult to sand the primer smooth in all the little creases. You also have to do a good job with the clear coat because this would be very difficult to wet-sand and buff. I didn't spend a ton of time on this one because it is just a daily driver.

Wow....those look really nice in the pic!! You sanded, painted and clear coated them? I would be concerned that they would start cracking....the flats tend to flex a lot. I placed a few foam blocks under mine in strategic places that kept them from rattling around so much. I've had mine on the car for at least 6 years now.

I have this style too....a set of old "Shadow" 3 - piece, but even though they were aluminum, I didn't care for the look...

Re: Window Louvers
Yeah mine are sanded/primed/sanded/primed/sanded/base/clear. I am a little worried about them cracking but it really isn't much different than any other plastic part on a car. Mine seem to be pretty stable. Yesterday was really windy while i was driving so I watched them pretty close and didn't notice too much movement.
I would still prefer aluminum ones but I'm not a fan of those shadow style either. I'd love to find some good OEM louvers some day.

If VortecZ passes, please let me know. I should have made a firm decision by then.

Re: Window Louvers
the best louvers are the factory OEM louvers. They are getting tougher to find but I found a set in California recently for my car that came off an 8,000 mile 1985 IROC. Cost me $88 on greyhound freight to get them to Cleveland, Ohio from LA
