get a B&M Megashifter....
I bought one at a local speed shop for $250 Canadian ($150 US or so)

There are two tricks with it though: when installing it make sure to loop the shifter cable the way they say to in the instruction manual, and put loctite on the shifter when you tighten it down.

otherwise it works SWEET! Looks bad-*** too. I'm not a big fan of the gay-cheap looking plastic shifter-boot, i'm getting a leather one made at a local shop for $50.

I have no idea how good they are, but you might check out the temporary classifieds board. Someone on there is selling a Hurst. They don't have an advertised price though.
Just a heads up.

I have been looking in the aftermarket world for a shifter for my 700R4 but haven't found anything worth my money yet I have a couple friends who have had nothing but trouble with B&M products the Megashifter in particular, typically the nut coming loose that holds the T-shifter in place. Since most of the guys I know run their cars that the track that can definitely ruin your day if your shifter is sloppy! I wanted to get a hurst and read up on the post in the Temporary Classifieds board about the Dual Gate but on Summit & Jeg's site they didn't list the 700R4 as a tranny that shifter would bolt onto, oversight I guess? Anyways aftermarket shifters aren't only for looks, with an aftermarket shifter you can actaully shift between gears rather than trying to "bump" the shifter a little gear to gear with the stock shifter. But it is awesome that some aftermarket shifters like the Megashifter and the Dual Gate fit so nicely in the console

Hurst Dual Gate 2

I saw a picture of Brawls interior and he has the hurst dual gate shifter and says that it works well. Jegs has it, part number 530-292-0000. It fits right in the console and looks nice too. If anyone else knows anything about this shifter, let me know becuase I am looking for a good shifter.

Get the Hurst Dual Gate. I haven't installed mine yet, but it looks sweet. And playng around with it and pretending to go through the gears if fun.
