I run the deep pan #20180 on my Z with no bad side effects. My car is lowered an inch with Hotchkis springs and still no problems,I hit my scattershield first. The pan sits even with if not a bit higher than the crossmember,so you will hit the crossmember first anyway.Only problem I had was the y-pipe (SLP 1.75" headers and y-pipe) where it crosses over in front of the pan was a little tight.I dimpled the y-pipe here and there and have not had a problem yet in the 2 years the motor has been in..no leaks,or anything for that matter.I like the pan and am very happy with it,highly recommend it on a high winding motor that sees abuse..hehehe

Thanks. What engine are you running?Summit says the #20180 is for pre-1980 blocks?I wonder if my slp 1 5/8 y-pipe is the same.

I am running a '72 350 4 bolt block. In its current state it is a 355 with some bolt on goodies..AFR's,4340 forged bottom end,the small stuff.I don't know if the y pipe is the same size or not between our headers, yours MAY be a little smaller, but either way it won't really be a problem. You just need to get the pan that works for your motor (1 piece seal) and you will be good to go.
