Do I need an Ignition Box for Nitrous?

Just curious. This is my current ignition setup and I am gonna run a 75,100 and 125hp shot.

-MSD 8.5mm Superconducters
-MSD Blaster Coil
-Rapidfire plugs (getting nitrous plugs)
-MSD Cap/Rotor
-MSD HEI Timing Control Module

So what do u think?

is your engine built for 125?

i'm not running an ignition on mine and everything works great......but it can't hurt an since you have all those parts as it is i would go with one anyway.

but, do you need one; not necessarily if your stock setup is working properly.

Is the bottom end built for 125? Its a stock bottom end, and the guy who ran the 125 shot before me had the same bottom end that I did and he ran a 13.10 with his 305 TBI and had the same mods I have now. I don't plan on running the 125 shot to start with or even all the time. Only when I go to the track. I am just gonna start with a 75 shot and work my way to 100 and then 125 if I feel confident.

i'm sure you'll be fine, biggest issue is your fuel setup; as long as you have propper amounts of fuel you should be good......that an don't go to high.

whenever you run nitrous, you have to pull timing out. before this was done buy manually changing the timing, now with the great inventions of digital, like the new msd digital 6 box, theres a feature that retards the timing whenever the nitrous solenoid is activated, this is good because one, if you are racing on just the engine, your timing will be where its supposed to be and your engine wont be doggish compared to if the timing was already taken out for nitrous. second, if you hit the button you dont have to worry about if you remembered to retard the timing or not. the new msd box is pretty neat, it has a bunch of cool features. anyways, this is just my . 02

Yeah I love that Digital MSD Box but its a little expensive for me and I have the MSD HEI Timing Control Module where I just either pop my hood and change it with a switch of a dial or I can mount the box inside and do it from there, advancing it or retarding it as I see fit. For now I think that will do. I got it for 35 bucks shipped.
