SLP...dont plan on getting your orders any time soon...

well, this has happened the past THREE orders from SLP...

i call em up, order my stuff, and wait. and wait. and wait.

i call them a week or two later wondeinrg what the heck is going on. they do a bunch of crap, and come back to tell me that either what i ordered is out of stock, or they are just "very busy".

why they didnt inform me of these things when i placed the (expensive) orders? who knows.

all three times (including one that i am waiting on now), it was 3-4 weeks wait time on something that they say takes 3 days.

i love SLP and their products...but just plan on a WAIT if you ever order anything from them. at least, i will from now on.

same here

I place an order with them and the same thing. They said I'd get the Y-pipe in 2 weeks, 2 weeks later and nothing. I called and they said its on back order and they may get it in next week. Well screw that, I cancelled the order and had one made for almost half the price. With the kind of money their bringing in I think they can hire a few more people to keep their customers happy

Interesting, I got my wheels and tires pretty quick, from the postings lately it seems that their quality and service might be dropping on the smaller items though...

time will tell.. the death of the SS and firehawk may not of been too good to them.

When I ordered a set of headers from them I did not get a call to confirm the order for 1 1/2 weeks so I called them. They said they tried to call me but I wasn't there. For some reason they left no message and there was no record of the call on my cell. I ended up getting them just under 3 weeks after I ordered them.

They also did not inform me that there may fitting problems with their 1 3/4 header, I would have gladly switched to the 1 5/8. Only after I installed them did I find out that mine hit the steering shaft. I sent them 2 emails both were ignored, finally called them up only to hear that I to changing my motor mounts would probably fix the problem.

Now I stay away from SLP.

I just placed my first order with SLP (CAI airbox) and was expecting a delay based on comments I had read on the board. But I placed my order online on Saturday and recieved my part 4 business days later, on Thursday. They also e-mailed me with the tracking number so I knew to look for it on Thursday. SLP is OK in my book.

I try and stay away from SLP as much as possible. I ordered the 1 3/4 headers and I think they teach people to weld while making these things. The welds do not penitrate the metal. The pipes are cut off uneven in the collector. The collector is welded on by smashing the pipes together. then layin a glob of weld in any open space they can find. Some of the pipes are two pieces. What is up with that. Did the mandrel bender quit working? I actually had abead of weld pop off! Luckly it was just the weld that hopes to hold the tubes together. I have done alot of work to get these headers the way I want them. That would be fine IF THEY WERE 100 dollar headers, but they are not they are more like 400 DOLLARS. On top of that they come with no hardware, instructions, gaskets, warranty, and they even have the nerve to send a note saying if you do not notice any defects in three days you are out of luck. I have had headers from many different companies for alot less and they were of much better build quality AND they came with hardware and gaskets.

If there was another company that sold shorty 1 3/4 believe me I would of used that company. I also have the runners. Plan on spending multiple days porting them because in stock form they are down right junk. The inside looks like the lunar surface. Whoever is working the mold needs to watch it a little better. The material looks as if the sand casting is deteriorating before the part is molded. At ay rate the part is not the quality part one would expect for the money. SDPC intake was casted out of the same material and they seem to be able to turn out a quality product. I have no idea what is up at SLP.

I have all the same complaints about SLP as the rest of you and after many runs adding 1 3/4 headers it didnt net me a single tenth. More importantly the customer service department there is a nightmare and they danced around their performance guarantee like something out of river dance. They recently took down their complaint part of their message board, I see that as a pre-emptive strike to protect what little bit of respect they have left. SLP is widely know for horrible shipping delays and poor customer service thats a rep they worked hard to get.

If you have a fourth gen, I would also recommend staying clear of their air lids. I truthfully think the stock one would flow more than the incredibly poor casting of the SLP product. Threy have the audacity to use a plastic weld on a part they are selling to the public, and they made no effort to hide it. The plastic looks as if it is heat warped and that is before it is put on the car. I would hate to see what would happen to the lid on a hot summer day under the hood. I hope my SS doesn't fall apart because it was also built at SLP. SLP If you are reading this maybe you should take this as a sign. I am not just some quack on a rampage for your company. I have spent a significant amount of money dealing with your establishment, and to this point I really feel as if I have been cheated and from the sounds of it so do others.
