Bad time with Third Gen Resource
Bad time with Third Gen Resource
Well to put it short after waiting for 6 weeks for my headliner kit. Today I recieved a great looking t-top headliner with the curved sunvisors and everything else. The problem is that 6 weeks ago I ordered a hardtop kit
(I have my invoice that says hardtop) So now with 4 weeks untill the f-body gathering in Bowling Green KY. I'm without the last piece to my car. I post tomorrow after I contact them and let everyone know the outcome. I'm a little angry that 6 weeks and 250 bucks has got my no where.......

Sorry you had a bad experience.
That stinks.
I, on the other hand, had a great experience with Third Gen Resource. I ordered a t-top headliner kit and everything arrived quickly and they threw in a quare yard of extra material.
Hope your problem gets squared away.

Third gen.resource and sometimes hawks take over a month to get someone a part???? I've never delt with these people. From what I've read from other members, I don't think I'll risk doing business with them. Why would a business sell products knowing they don't have the item in stock?

I've had all good experiances with TGR last year. I've dealt with them when I was in the process of changing my int from red to black and I never had a single problem with my orders. And they were big orders.

i have been to 3rd gen resoures,it's not really that big of a place. the headliner kits and hoods and such are probably ordered through them, but come from the factory. i am not defending them, but the place is just to small to stock all the parts they sell.from what i have seen they stock mostly used parts there, from the wrecks they buy.

Having recently just dealt with them - I ordered a Serpentine conversion kit at the beginning of August. I called 2 days ago to see why I haven't gotten anything or heard a single thing out of them......and there aren't any in stock and somebody else has "first dibs". Needless to say I cancelled my order and then placed one through Hawk's. First thing Bruce says is "We have 'em in stock and it will be 7 - 10 business days". Now that's reliability.
Well I got my replacement headliner from them pretty quick. However, the owner of the place really didn't act like he gave a crap. I had to call them 3 times to have them come pick the other headliner up. I wonder how he would feel if he needed a part for his car and people acted like that to him? I'll never do buisness with them again!!! Hawks at least tell you how it is and acts like he cares!!!!!
I actually had to tell the guy he owed me an appology before I got one. And he even said "oh I ordered the wrong one"

smoke TGR :(
i ordered my headliner from them too. I ordered a black t-top headliner and recieved exactly that, plus a little " bonus "
. They apparently emptied their shredder's trash bin right into my box
. It took me at least an hour to get all the little paper fibers off of my BLACK headliner with pieces of packaging tape. I was extremely p*ssed and would never order from them again unless it was an absolute necessity. ****-poor service is right, they also just threw about 30 unbound xerox pages in that was supposed to be a catalog ? F*k them, i'm giving my business to hawk's from now on. at least he's on the level

Want a good laugh? Let me tell you my horror story. I called up TGR (aka fbodymotorsports, aka Camaro and Firebird Parts). I needed a door hinge for the Trans Am. I had the part number and told them exactly what I wanted. They didn't even have to look it up. I had the guy pull it off the shelf and describe it to me. Sounded right, so I ordered it. They shipped me a completely different part. I called them back and told them about their mistake and that I needed the correct part by last Thur morning. They shipped the part next day air. Got here Thur about noon and it was the exact same wrong part they shipped me the first time. I called them back and whoever answered told me I would have to call back Monday, everyone was at the car show. I called back Monday. The guy said he didn't have the correct part and that he would refund my money and the cost of shipping the two incorrect parts back. I ordered the part I needed from Year One. I came home from work today and found a box from TGR at my door. It was the correct part (same part number I told them in the first place), but now I have a second part coming from Year One. I'll call them tomorrow and tell them I want my money back. How many ways can one company screw up a simple one part order???? I'll never deal with them again!
