Summit is a great company to deal with. I have been doing business with them for about the last tem years and only once had a problem. They didn't ship my braided fuel line, I called and told them and they overnighted it to me no charge. Great company with great service.

I would have to agree, great company never had a problem with them, customer service is great. One time my mom ordered the wrong set of headers for my car (graduation present, and we found out after we tried to put them on), called Summit up and told them, they shipped the new ones the same day...

Agreed. Summit can't be beat in the customer service dept. I had a Powermaster starter crap out after 2 weeks, called 'em up and they overnighted a new one to me at no charge, and the kicker, the delivery day was Saturday! They have the best prices around and they can get pretty much anything you want from any other vendor out there. I have to give Summit two big thumbs up.

I agree, I live in Indiana and I think one of there warehouses is in Ohio. I can order stuff Monday monring on the net and have it Wednesday afternoon and thats not paying any extra shipping.

I did however have a bad experience with JEGS and have not went back to them since.

I have dealt with both Summit and Jeg's. I think both
are great for parts and service. But for service, I think that
Summit is a little better.

I personally like both Summit and Jegs, but I think the Jegs website and catalog is laid out a little better, More organized, easier to find stuff. Especially the Jegs website. I usually check them first. Besides they sent me a free hat. Ive probable spent $5000 in the last year and all I remember is the free .49 cent hat, haha

Summit is amazing. I ordered my headers from them, and they came the next day. Then I ordered the y-pipe in the morning, and it came by the end of the day with regular shipping. Of course it helps that they aer based about 40 minutes from me I've been to their store several times, and they are great people. I bought my hood, and one of the salesmen helped me take it our to the van, and spent about 20 minutes finding the right angle so that the hood would fit in the car. :hail:

It was pretty cool seeing chuck mallet running down the road at 150, then getting pulled over, or getting a ride in corsa's supercharged viper:hail:

yeah, they are really good.

i always get my stuff within 3 days, almost always in 2 day, but that depends on wheer you live. i live in NY, and i still get 'em fast though.

and their customer service is great too...good place to deal with.

and you can tell by my file of receipts of thousands of dollars that i feel that way

Damn 'Stu162', if I live 40 minutes from Summit them folks would know me by a first name basis

BTW: A couple of weeks ago, I got a package in the mail from Summit. I was really trying to think if I was expecting something. (Really hard mind you!) No - I don't remember ordering anything, so I open it up and there’s a new carb spacer. Yea, I remember buying a carb spacer 6 months ago. So I read the letter that was packaged with it, and it states that the spacer a purchased 6 months ago is not holding up (I guess these specific spacer where eroding?), and that if I would except there substitute they shipped to me, and mail back the old spacer I would receive a $25 gift certificate. The package also had a return label which was nice. Folks, they didn't just mail me a gift certificate, they F'ing next day air’ed that bad boy in record time. Now that speaks for a company!!!!:hail:
I do spend more money with Summit then I care to admit

jegs website is better? no offense to jegs, their service rocks, but their website looks like a 5 year old designed it. summit has a much better website.

as far as who has better service, i have found that both are excellent, i usually order from who ever has what i need in stock, one of them always does

Re: Summit

I would be careful ordering from summit, on several occasions I've noticed their website contidict itself, and have mismatched data, I'm not saying don't buy from them, they're a great company to do buisness with, just double check to make sure your getting what you think your getting

example

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...1&autoview=sku

this looks like a good deal, actully, a steal deal 16 roller rockers for $30, it says sold each in the description, but sold as a set of 16 in the item specs.

I still shop there, I'm just saying double check, it's a pain when you get the wrong parts even if the right parts are overnighted.

I would disagree that Jegs website is easier to use. Summit's is by far easiest.

But JEGS does offer other components that Summit doesn't. Once I figured out how to use JEGS site, it wasn't that bad at all.

Jegs and Summit are both good

Summit has more "sales or clearance prices" on line

both ship fast as can be and have great tech and customer support

its like ford and chevy you just pick the one of the two you like

Re: Summit

I use Summit for almost everything. I am up in the Northeastern part of California, and am only about an hour and a half from the Sparks Nevada warehouse. Since most of my shopping is done in the Reno/Sparks area I mostly go into the store personally. Their staff is always friendly, their customer service is great, and the very few issues I have had were resolved immediately. Also their completely separate tech line has been a huge help many times, and the people I have spoken to there really know their stuff. I am going to agree, two thumbs up for Summit.

Re: Summit

jegs' website is better if you know EXACTLY what they are looking for, though they have alot less parts then summit.

Summit's website is way better if you're just comparing and searching or even researching. They also have alot more parts.

Only thing ive ever had with summit was one time my dad ordered a catback for the mustang, and as he was putting it on he realized he ordered the complete wrong catback. So he called em up and summit shipped the corrected exhaust system the same day.

also, there are a few parts number discrepencies. Not really errors, but there was one occasion where I needed a very specific part and couldnt find it through summit's search tools, but customer service was able to link me to it. Hard to sell a part no one can find! Also, their part numbers are summit only. The real part number (from, say, trickflow or AFR) is hidden within the summit part number, which can make price matching a pain.

And you havn't seen anything till you go to a summit store. I live about 40-50 minutes from the main summit warehouse in Ohio. I coulda spent the entire day in there, and almost did.

Re: Summit

Jegs hits me with a rural shipping fee that summit does not.I dont live in a sprawling metropolis but Jackson has 200,000 people with nine or more smaller surronding cities.Atleast 400,000 people in the greater jackson area.I mean come on I know its MS but not what I call rural.Fee made a 20 dollar part 45 bucks with shipping charges. That sucks.Yes,I know that the Dallas/Ft Worth area has more people than my entire state. If they want to see rural I`ll show them rural.

BTW,I thought everyone knew summit was a great company.Kinda suprised it is being posted about here.

How about shipping to Canada? I always check them for prices to compare, but I haven't ordered anything because it says shipping charges can't be calculated until it is shipped, which makes me nervous. Does anyone know if it is possible to have stuff shipped to Detroit and pick it up from there myself?

I prefer Jegs website over summits. I bought my intake from them, shipped pretty quick, even up here to Canada. I'm probably going to order my spring parts through summit though, based on your guys' suggestions.
