My latest Summit experience...

...was great.

I ordered my trans temp, water temp, a/f ratio gauge, triple gauge pillar, trans cooler, and STB three days ago from the website. The next morning I had an email saying they had shipped, and today they arrived. Its my second time using Summit, and so far so good.

No complaints here about them. If I get my order in before 3pm pacific, monday - thursday, it's usually here the next day I've spent probably 6,000+ dollars there over the years. They're about to get some more money from me too lol

i live an hour from the ohio retail store/warehouse. i've got a friend who works in phone sales. what i do is call him, then go pick up my order.

i don't spend enough money to use their speed points program. it works for in-store retail purchases only. so i help my friend get his commission with my parts orders.

Whenever I order from summit I get great CS. A baffle in my muffler broke and they sent me a new one no problem, and it was there the next day. I always get the things the next day from them with no shipping charges. I love it.

95% of my jeg's orders get screwd up some how. I can't recall ever having a single problem with summit.

Prior to this, I had only ordered from Summit once and from Jeg's once and both went fine. I didn't have a particular reason for using Summit this time, except all my items were a few cents cheaper

i've yet to order from jeg's... summit has given me no reason to do so.

however, i do request a jeg's catalog periodically to read through.

they do 1-2 day ups shipping to a pretty large area. i live an hour from there, and usually just drive down.

i see you're from north olmsted, you on aol by chance? i live over near youngstown, but have several friends who live in the cleveland/akron area.

I never realized that so many people don't like Jeg's.
I used both and never had a problem with either of them.
But, I do use Summit more than Jeg's.

I agree. They sent me the wrong part for a fuel adapter and they are sending me the new parts pretty much free of charge. I had to pay the difference of the parts which was 2 dollars. Jegs never helped me this way they always say tough luck. Summit all the way for me.

Yep Summit sells parts first to provide you a service, Jegs sells parts only to fund their racing habbits. Summmit races but it not why they got into the business. Jegs is in it purly to fund racing.

Summit cars about you and your car, Jegs just wants money.

Do you have evidence that back up this or is this just slandering against Jegs. I think both company offer competitive prices that cannot be beat locally. I would be hard to own a millions of dollars business to fund racing. They have employee that work and depend on Jegs to support their family. But I truly believe they don't sell parts to support racing habits. That Totally Ridicules...

Sure watch racing once in a while. Jegs was only made to fund racing so they did not to find their own sponsors.
Summit provides a service first. Jegs just wants to race.

Their service and customer support proves that, not to mention its just true.

I remember when Jegs was born on NHRA today and it was clearly stated that it was to fund racing so they did not need to find sponsors. And of course provide you with crapy service.

I only speak the truth.

i have NEVER had a bad experience with jegs. i even got a free hat with my order last week. i like jegs alot. jeg jr is a really cool guy who takes the time to hang out with car nuts. he wanted to know all about my camaro when i was at the craftsman nationals last summer. he even offered me a beer to drink with him and his buddies. with that said i highly doubt they care less about customer service.

Give me 3 reasons why Jeg would clone Summit and ever start it???

[ not to mention I saw the interview on TV about it, when Jegs was born.]

1st reason, fund racing.
2nd reason make money
3rd reason, jock off someone who is making loads of money and get some of it too.

Same parts, same prices, very different service.

only thing you find different is the service.

You can't blame anyone wanting to make money but the motives behind it become clear in their business. Start up any project on this board and soon as anyone buys it, you will 3 clones of it.
3 V6 header projects went that way. We now run off and ban the cloners. Pacesetter is now the man.

I use Jegs whenever I can because they always ship using UPS meaning I always get it next day. Summit sometimes uses Fedex and that takes two days. Both of them use the BS 'free shipping' then charge you an equal handling fee. I have probably have eight orders with each and all have been good experiences. I didn't know Jegs was founded to fund racing, I must say, what a great idea. BTW, Summit isn't a not-for-profit organization.
