I ordered some rear seat delete boxes from this company that has a web site at SpeedSpecialty.com after hearing about them on a thread on this site. I ordered them on August 16th. They charged my credit card right away and I have not seen anything in the shipments so I wrote an email to them. They do not have a phone number on the website. The email answer from them said they were delivered according to a DHL tracking number on Sep 8 and signed for by a specific person.
OK, I looked around here, at the specific address I included in my order, and we have no one by that name, and also no package. I looked on the DHL site with the tracking number and it shows that a package was sent from Officemax in Thousand Oaks California, not SpeedSpecialty. Also it is shipped to no company or person name, and no specific address in Houston, just Houston Texas. ?????????? Huh?
So I write back Im worried, I have no package, no way to check on the package, and no way to contact the vendor except the one email I recieve back in response per day. Im starting to think there is something wrong.
Anyone else order from them? I have asked for a phone number in my emails twice now. I will see what tomorrows lone email brings.

when i ordered mine there was a notation that said that wait time was 3-4 weeks due to the ammount of orders, i got mine in 2 weeks.
Well I finally got them after they had sent them to the wrong adress. Credit to them to follow through and resend to the proper place. Im dissapointed with the quality. First the support is made wiht particle board, which weighs about twice as much as plywood, but a lot cheaper. Second position of the hole for the front bolt that is suppose to go into the stock seat holder bracket is way to far out to connect. That bracket uses a sheet metal type bolt, so you cannot just go get a longer threaded bolt. The longest they make a sheet metal type bolt of that diameter is about 1" which is still way too short. I have them in the car with the real bolt connected and they don't move around but its less than optimum. Also the color is too dark, doesn't match my grey carpet. Not a total ripofff but for $100 I expected a bit more

Well, considering that plywood costs about $40 a sheet and then you count labor and carpet, 100 would be cheap.Originally Posted by Larry Dunlap

I always make sure once I find something I want, I call to order it, Instead of ordering online. More 'contact' that way and lesser chance of errors.

At the most plywood cost $20 per 4'x8' sheet, that's 5/8 or 3/4" which should be plenty strong. I estimate, looking at the amount of material used per box, that a MINIMUM of 4 boxes could be made from one sheet, probably more. Thats $5/box for plywood. Originally Posted by Klortho

The price of $100 includes shipping, probably $20, so in my opinon there is plenty of room to use plywood instead of particle board. It's stronger and weighs less. I wouldn't have complained at all except for the fact that I could not make the boxes attach to the stock bracket for seat bottoms, and the color is darker than my carpet. Even with all that it still looks better than just a big hole there.
Like I said, I expected more for the price. I guess I shouldn't have been so lazy and got off my butt and built them myself.
i have my opinion on these pieces of crap on another thread buit i couldnt find it... these things suck so much its not even funny. i got mine in the wrong color, then went around with they guy for a couple weeks and finally they sen me replacement carpet. i stripped the old stuff off and the worksmanship was appalling. i mean holy F i could make better cuts with a hammer lol. i spent like 5 hours making the dam things fit my car. i have the cut the hell out of them to make them fit and move 1 of the holes because it was over an inch off.

More contact is always good, but I've had far more errors on phone calls than digital orders. Email/online order forms are typed up clearly, phone calls can be misheard.Originally Posted by TraviZ

I'd like to see some pictures too, not that I would order from them...Just to get some ideas on how to make myself a set.
