GT and Hawks?

GT and Hawks?
hey guys, incase you havent read previous posts, i'm planning on getting a new hood for my 87 t/a...the thing is that i want the WS6 style ram air hood for it so i was looking at two companies...GTfiberglass and Hawks...now i plan on driving up to GT for the hood because i'm like 4 hours out of conneticuit (i'm in jersey) and that would save on shipping and also ensure that my hood will be there, or possibly driving to S.C. for the hood at hawks (about a 9 hour drive lol) to save on shipping again, but the thing is that hawks hood is 510 i believe when i can get an unfiinished hood from GT for 350....any suggestions, like i said i'm most likely going to drive to conneticiut for the hood but i'm not too sure about driving to south carolina, and i know that if it was 130 to ship a spoiler, its gonna be like 300 for this hood lol...please help becasuei cant figure out what to do....thanks guys

Re: GT and Hawks?
thats expensive for shipping, it was only 105 to ship my hood all the way to new mexico, but you also get what you pay for on the hoods, i havent seen the one from gt but the one from hawks looks really good.

Re: GT and Hawks?
Ive heard nothing but good from G&T. I'd go with them. I cant support hawks anymore after Bruce tried to con me a few years ago.

Re: GT and Hawks?
i know that G&T hasnt gotten good reviews but i'm not sure if i should succumb to the good price and see what they have to offer, or just pay the extra and try hawks, i didnt have too good luck last time with my spoiler, it was pretty messed up so i'm not too sure if i trust hawks handling and packaging...i'm not too sure, i really need help on it though because i'm closer and closer to getting this hood every day as i save this cash....thanks guys

Re: GT and Hawks?
I hear ya on the $ issue. I'm still leaning towards G&T, but I'll hafta buy the finished one, and have it shipped. From Texas, it would be a bit of a drive for me. Not only that, but the only way I could do that, is if I drove my GTA up there without a hood at on all, and put it on at G&T.

Re: GT and Hawks?
Dude, Stephen already told you to read the reviews. I'm one of like three people in the past month that have been issued either partial or full refunds from our credit card companies or paypal.
I received an email from them last week for the first time in about a month and this is after about three weeks prior they were supposed to have shipped an airbox and decals to me. They emailed me saying that the head guy was sick, blah blah, and they were moving, blah blah and they would make good ASAP if I wanted them too. Well I gave them a chance and guess what........they've never contacted me again.
However I have to ask, considering the cost of gas nowadays and your drive time, is it really worth driving all of those hours?

Re: GT and Hawks?
I even gave G&T a link to that thread, and they responded, in email, about that guy being out, yet they didn't even bother to come on here, and explain anything, defend themselves, apologize, nothing.
Considering their business is 3rd gen stuff, you'd think they'd at least say SOMETHING. If you ask me, G&T is going out of business. If not by choice, which would explain their lack of service (they don't care anymore), or they are just going to lose business.

Re: GT and Hawks?
That's what I'm saying. Like I said, they emailed me and d4nk with the same B.S. email promising to make good. That was a week and a half ago and they still haven't responded back to my response.

Re: GT and Hawks?
i have read the reviews, and i have seen mixed reviews on G&T, i mean i would really like to get from them because hawks is so expensive and i dont think ihave that kind of money...but about the gas thing, its about a 4 hour drive at tops to conneticuit and i was gonna use my dad's 01 S10...the little 4 banger does good on gas haha
