thirdgenranch.com disonest vendor ???

The 24 may 2012, I ordered and payd a set of tan front GTA seats from thirdgenranch.

Owner and contac person, Denny Bruns, 1459 Goodenow Rd, Crete IL 60417-4702 USA

After numerous e-mails about shipping status, around 1 month after payment I recived rear seat that I did not order and do not need. I only ordered the front seats.

Recived back rest of front seats only after opening paypal dispute, they were shipped only the 27 juin 2012.
Seller did not comunicate tracking number even after many requests.

I offered the seller a 300$ prime/bonus if the rest of the seats arrive before the 14 july 2012.

I have still not recived the botom parts of the front seats, Denny Bruns claims they were shipped the 27 juin 2012 and he is not comunicating the tracking number to me like he did with the previous package.

Is this Danny Bruns guy disonest, thaking advantage of the onest members of TGO?

Re: thirdgenranch.com disonest vendor ???

I know that shipping seats can be a hassle because I got my Recaro seats from him a while back. I have never had any problems with him and he has always stood behind his parts.
That said I am suprised to hear this about him. I hope this is a one time incident and that you were able to get your money back through Paypal.

Denny has been honest when I have bought from him, for my projects or for the shops.

After a long time of silence, I just got an e-mail from him "Yes, we just got word from USPS that they are paying the claim on the missing package and we will send out replacement seat bottoms for the front right away. Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused."

I have no way to werify what happened, I newer got the tracking number of the missing package.

Re: thirdgenranch.com disonest vendor ???

I agree. One time I got the wrong year part from him and he sent me the right one and did not want the other back. I had ordered the right part which we both verified. He was very sorry and quick to make it right.

Re: thirdgenranch.com disonest vendor ???

While Denny's communication seems slow, poor and sometimes flatout absent as I am sure he has much to deal with, he has always been very helpful over even the smallest/cheapest of parts when I've dealt with him in the past.

I've met him personally, hell I even shook hands with him. I bought 2 fenders and a hood off of him and he treated me right and I'll be back to give him more business.

Re: thirdgenranch.com disonest vendor ???

Denny is awesome. i had ordered a convertible top and top frame, but miscomunicated some details. The top i paid for wouldn't work with my car with out changing other parts, so he sent me a much more expensive, and considerably nicer set for the same price. i can't complain. his communication is slow sometimes, but he's honest and more than willing to help.

Dishonest people work at USPS too! Sad to say : (
All they have to do is not log it in the computer and the item never existed as far as anyone else knows!!!

I've had nothing but positive experiences with thirdgenranch. The USPS? Not so much. Those crooks have stolen tons of tools and parts from me.

I suspect the post office is the problem.

From my dealings to others on here, I have not heard anything bad about thirdgenranch. With that said, I'm thinking alot could happen shipping something overseas. I've ordered from Australlia, and had to wait a month. Hang in there.

Re: thirdgenranch.com disonest vendor ???

I'll also chime in....any parts I've purchased from thirdgenranch have been better than the photos on the website. I couldn't believe the condition of the console lid or the roll shade for my '84 T/A.

I also had wanted to purchase the entire plastic pieces for a thirdgen and Denny was very forthcoming in discussing shipping etc. At the end, the shipping was more expensive than the parts. Glad we (myself and Denny) decided to cancel the order.

Kudos to Denny.

USPS Priority mail international does not take more then 10 days to get here and if something goes wrong you can still check were it was last with the tracking number.

With this said, I do wish that USPS screwed up and that the replacements will be here soon.

Can check for yourself
https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfi...=cj159651004us
https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfi...=cj160737484us

I also had some US sellers that sent the parts to Swaziland and in the end they were here in less than 3 weeks, I could follow theyr whole trip with the tracking number.

I am not excluding an USPS error, but I hope the missing parts will be here soon.

Re: thirdgenranch.com disonest vendor ???

I was looking at buying a replacement part from them and Denny suggested that I look elsewhere for the part. The reason he gave is that my car is a low mile original and the part I was looking at was a reproduction. The reproduction part was close to factory, but he compared the two and determined that I should purchase original rather than the repro. That was money out of his pocket!

I have also been happy with my transactions with Denny, but he is a one-man show, so he does not have the time to baby sit anything. He has been honest with me even when it cost him a sale, rather than chance making a customer unhappy. You just can't win 'em all...

Re: thirdgenranch.com disonest vendor ???

A friend in Germany and I trade stuff back and forth all of the time. One would think that with the USPS the package would leave here, go to a distribution center, then on to Europe. Sometimes packages make trips to far off places before ending up in Germany. Some items have taken 10 weeks to get there, and look like they have been used for target practice during transit. Lots of times stuff gets hung up in customs. One box stayed in transit for 12 weeks, only to show back up here because one digit was not written neatly and difficult to read. A post office employee had written the label. Hope you get it all worked out and get your items.

It is an update.

I will do my best and be patient.

Re: thirdgenranch.com disonest vendor ???

I just went to the website.. I have owned my 87 IROC since 88 Brand new and never knew about this site.. Great prices!!!!.. Even though my car is a garage queen, when it is cloudy out, raining, snowing, windy, excessively sunny.. LOL it remains in great shape with very low mileage around 23K. I will be recommending this site to other 3rd gen folks in our car club.

Re: thirdgenranch.com disonest vendor ???

Paypal wants me to send back the parts I have recived from Denny for a full refound.

I let them know that I can send the rear seats back, but I cannot sent the backrest and headrest of the Ultima seats back, because I have already restored and recoverd them.

Kinda sucks, but that shows just how confident I was that Denny would send me what I payd him for.

Today I recived a set of Ultima seats from another TGO member, will be using the bottom part of those for now.

But I still keep hope that Denny will send the rest of the parts he sold to me, would still be great for another restoration project I have in mind.

Here are pics of Denny's seats, wenn they arrived and now after restoration wating for the bottom parts.

Re: thirdgenranch.com disonest vendor ???

I bought a hood and a front inner bumper at the same time from thirdgen ranch. The front inner bumper came lighting fast yet the hood took weeks & not to mention it costed a arm and a leg to ship from Illinois to Nevada. I recieved the hood and inspected all the corners and were just fine. So I drove home from the UPS frieght facility 45 minutes to my hometown body shop. Upon taking it off the the flatbed trailer I had (with straps) I opened the box it came in and I find a huge gash in the side. UPS' fault most definitely. Denny hasn't replied to my emails for a couple days now so yes he's slow at replying. Don't let my story discourage you. He's a great seller. It's the shipping that gets us all.

I just saw Denny last week, bought a floor pan from him and a steering gear from him. I tend to go see him about once every month or so for parts, NEVER had a negative experience with him. This sounds like a USPS/Customs problem

It is possible it wasn't updated at the time he checked. Now it is showing in Switzerland. A package is on its way.

Re: thirdgenranch.com disonest vendor ???

Recived the bottom of the seats today wich is already good.

2 bottom seat frame plastic trim panels are missing, will see with Denny if we can make a deal to resolve this issue.

Pakage was shipped the september 6, unfortunately USPS tracking page was updated only right after post #35.

Re: thirdgenranch.com disonest vendor ???

Why would you even buy those in the US? I have a set of Tan ultima seats if someone in Europe is interested. I also have the rear seat cushions, I am missing the back seat... don't know where it ended up. Tan leather but the leather is ripped.

Re: thirdgenranch.com disonest vendor ???

Not sure disonest ist the only right word to describe, Danny from thirdgenranch.com's behavior in this situation, but he still has not given me what was agreed and I payd for.

Concerning the missing, 2 bottom seat frame plastic trim panels, he wrote me the following e-mail:

"Yes, those inner pieces aren't always on the seats. Sometimes they just have a metal bracket there since they are up against the console but I think we have them available in tan. I've also sure we have the harness that connects the two seats if you need it. I'll have to check on the other pieces."

This was from 18 september 2012, after that I never heard from him again.

Wow, me either. I think the OP has been more than patient. I am attempting to restore a 90 Formula 350 and have been checking out this site for tips etc and after reading this I don't feel confident enough to try to do any business with them. What a shame!
