LT1 swappers, how do they affect fuel mileage?

LT1 swappers, how do they affect fuel mileage?

Just wondering. I know you have more power and want to use it, but when yout not showboating, how is the mileage? I would assume the same, but you never know.

I used to get 26mpg in my 97SS, and it had a healthy cam, ported heads, and 4.10 gears (M6). With a similar combo in a third gen, you should be able to get that or a little better (lighter). An auto will get a little less, unless you have really high gears in the rearend (2.73s or 3.08s).
