Alternative port EFI throttle bodies
Just thought that I would let everyone know about this.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...B:EOIBSA:MT:11
That is a link to a throttle body on ebay. I got one, they are only 200 $. Holley and accel sell similar units for many hundred $ more. The machine work is phenominal. It is for a multipoint EFI conversion. I bought one and when I spoke with them on the phone they said that they had six left.
It uses the GM TBI TPS sensor.
Looks like the LS1 IAC valve
Has "two" 1/8 fittings for a vacuum source
Has "One" 1/4 fitting for a vacuum source
Has a spot for accel cable
Has a spot for Cruise or maybe an Automatic tranny.
Uses "four" 2" bores for the butterflies.
It DOES NOT bolt to a spread bore or square bore manifold. You have to make an adapter.
I am unsure of the cfm, but you can imagine it is huge.
I hope this is able to help someone.

It doesn't look like the throttle linkage is progressive either.
Seems like thats why its $199.

I don't think i would go as far as calling it junk. It needs some work, but it looks like it might have dominator dimensions. If the machine work is as good as it looks in the auction, then I see no problem with it. Even if you were to use a single large throttle blade, ala LS1, you still need a mounting plate, so whats so much better about that? And you would have to basically butcher the thing to not get excellent airlfow with 4-2" blades.
progressive linkage is easy enough to set-up as well, I'm sure there is nothing fancy holding the linkage arms on, probably a collar. If it had that, it would probably have better throttle manners than the single large blade.
the price is decent, but the part is certainly not for a beginner, there is more work to be done once you get it.
interesting.

Although the cfm is unknown for sure, we can assume that each individual 2" bore flows as much as a another 2" bore throttle body. Provided is a link from the TBI board of a member who flow benched many different sizes of bores for cfm flow. I think that it is safe to assume that we can apply the 2" bore rating he achieved and multiply it by (4) to achieve a final result of a 1332 cfm rating. We could be conservative and say 1300 cfm. At any rate, it is good flow.

The linkage is progressive. When you first open the butterflies you will see the front blades open up more, but, upon closer inspection it is revealed that this is only to allow for the extra travel one might need for the idle set screw to extend. So yes, the linkage is progressive after the first one quater inch.
I will respectfully disagree with you and say that this is not junk. In the DIY spirit, we have to make everything work together, whether it is intended to or not. I will use my previous paragraphs as support.

so who has a dominator flanged carb or knows what the spacing is, i just want to make sure. 135mm is close to 5 5/16". so im going to assume its a dominator as the other 2" bore models on the market are. summit has an adapter for dominator to 4150 for 40 bucks, not too bad

I just finished making my adapter, cost me $15 and an afternoon's work. I just use a 6"x6" piece of .5" thick aluminum and drilled and tapped the holes in it.
