305 Build :)

Ok, I have an LB9 to start off with. I have an LT1 intake that has been ported out a bit, 52mm TB, searching for cam, 083 heads that will be ported out nicely, 22# injectors, full exhaust, 3.23 posi, built up tranny...

My question is, do you people see any major flaws in using the LT1 on the 305? How much loss am I looking at here with these heads/intake combo. Which cam could I get the most lift out ofwith these heads? I don't know what the heads will be like after the porting but I'll spend $500 if I have too. I have a 355 in the works and just want to have fun with this 305 for now, plus it will be different and a really fun car Please, no flamers, just opinons and info on what I'm asking, thank you.

PS. Upgrading fuel pump/afpr/ignition system be a must?

Car: 86 iroc
Engine: yea it has one
Transmission: yea it has one of them also (im 2 for 2) :)
you can never have a big enought fuel pump so i would get a 255 off of ebay for 100$ i dont know if a afpr would be worth it because the 22 lbs injectors will be giving your motor enought fuel as for an ign system i put that in the same boat as the fuel pump, here you are spending a lot of $ on your set up, and for around another 250$ (100$ pump/150 ign.)youll be even better

Car: 1987 IROC-Z Camaro
Engine: 5.7 350 TPI - SLP Runners, AFPR, MSD Goodies
Transmission: 700R4 - Shift Kit, Corvette Servo
Axle/Gears: BW 9 bolt, 3.27s
You'll loose a wee bit of torque, hardly noticble with the increase in Hp, and that sucker will rev a ton more than tpi. As for the cam, if you running stock heads, a good rule of thumb is nothing more than .470 lift int/exh.
