HSR install issues center bolt holes...
OK, I got the intake, and was going to use the old style heads untill I saw that they were missing several of the bolt bosses for the serp set up.
So I put the stock L98 heads on to find the 4 center bolts are at different angles. I know holley makes the adapter kit, but I am really not wanting to spend some 70 bucks (delivered) for this.
So the question is who has had this same issue and what did you do to solve it on the cheap...

But the 4 center head bolts are at a different angle than the intake.
Meaning the front and rear four tighten down like normal but the center four do not.

You need angled spacers (washers) for the center bolts....head to stealthram.com for more info.
But to fix the problem just drill the intake to the required angle.

anyway I am hoping to fire it up this week!
After nearly 2 weeks of swapping engine (went to a 383) / trans (swapped input shafts with kevlar banded one and 2K stall) tearing down and rebuilding trans... tearing down engine and swapping heads because the pre 86 heads I have did not have a few of the serp bosses drilled... and I did not feel like dealing with that...
But I got most of it back togeather now. Just have to have the drivers side serp. bracket repaired then I can finish the engine/radiator stuff.
I some how lost the factory rubber lines off the frame rail hard lines so I had to buy some of those.
I got the air tubes cut off the 2055's today, will weld them up tomarrow.
Then I need to get the driveshaft back in, and the bulk of the magnaflow cat back up and take it and have the extension tubes made/installed.
I axed the stock water/oil cooler... it was way to big a PITA to remove, was in the way constantly so it is gone. I will install a sandwich adapter and a real one later.
I think I only have one thing I actually need to order and that is a 180 fitting from the pressure regulator... I had bought 2 90's but soon realized one needs to be a 180...
Now just need to put togeather the aldl cable, and get that zif socket in the ECM so I can start tuning with the HSR... Yes I am gonna stay pure maf right now, but gonna do the 749 map conversion soon.

Take a look here.
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tech...ghlight=washer
I couldn't get them to fit with the TPI but they may work with the open base on the HSR.
The're cheap and the angle was about perfect on them.
There's a couple other suggestions there too.
Good luck with it.

You wanna help me build my ALDL cable??? I've been all over these boards trying to make sense of the schematics but I just can't for some reason.

Save yourself a penny, go to McMaster Carrs website and look for bevelled washers, I paid $2.87 with tax for 8 of them at the time. Very cheap, perfect for what i needed.

I went ahead and ordered 3 (5 piece) packs @ $5.xx, and got them the other day.
Worked great after I got the 1.5" long bolts. 2 spacers per bolt.
So for under $20 I got what I needed. Screw holley and thier inflated BS!
MU HAHAHAHAHA
But as an update to the car, got the headers (2055's) mounted up today.
Got the new serp belt on, did the air delete.
still waiting on 1 180 degree fitting from summit but other than that I think I have everything...

Part# 92810A120
I had to drill out the holes a little larger. Also, the bevel isn't the perfect angle however the aluminum is soft enough that it will conform for an even clamping pressure.
Only $2.47 for 5, and you only need 4.

Actually, I may have been wrong. Are the bolts for a stock TPI 3/8" or 5/16"?
Can't remember and I don't have one to measure.
Measure the stock diameter of your bolts, it's either the 3/8" beveled washer, or the 5/16" beveled washer.
It might be this part # instead: (3/8" alu beveled washer) 92810A130
