I want to get rid of my crossfire.

What is my best option to go with. I want to get rid of the crossfire and go with something with more flo. I plan on doing a 383, hydrolic roller cam 510 lift 224/230 duration ish, RR, dart pro1 heads and the cross fire just don't have enough flow. Plus looking into what I would have to do to tune it looks like a pain. So I was woundering if I could stick a holley stealth or mini ram on it and get the ecm with it. Or go with a carb or some other kind of efi with it? which would be the easiest to put on and tune since I cannot use my factory ecm with that kind of upgrade.

thanks, Gary

Maybe no pollution controls in your part of the state, but the NW corner does.

Believe me I know.

I would go TPI for a cheap bang for the buck upgrade.

If u have more money to spend, go with a Stealthram or the like for some more flow.

later

HSR won't fit his C4.. He can spend 2 months modding it like Joby did, or just buy a manifold that fits. TPI, superram, or miniram in my book.

the Holley single plane or any of the other brands of the same would do just fine.
- would the FIRST intake fit under the vette hood? I'd think so, but then you'd still need something like the holley ecu - personally I'd run the megasquirt.

They WONT FIT under the hood. been there, done that. About 3" too tall even with the smallest 'hat' on the throttle body. I think even Kenwood's TB adapter on his accel intake is 2" too tall. You can't mill the holley intake, or the tb linkage hits the fuel rail. I was really depressed about having to sell the singleplane intake in favor of a miniram, but cutting a hole in a corvette hood is something I wont do.

wow - does the vette have less hood clearance than a stock bird hood? - I ran my Team G with a regular 750 vac sec and 3" filter with drop base under my stock hood, went to a flat base and 4" filter with the ram-air hood......
hummm, I'm back to the FIRST intake and a megasquirt, but i'd have to look more into it's height....

The stock T/A hood is like 2" taller than the vette.

Gary, a lot of people have found incredible success by having someone burn a chip for them, keeping the ECM in a constant Open Loop state. This will allow you to throw on any aftermarket intake, and carburetor of your choice (you'll need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, the Mallory 4309 has proven to be an excellent piece, for a mere $90.00). C-4's look incredible with a cowl induction hood, why not consider one?

Here are a couple of hoods with prices. I've never bought anything from these guys, but the are pretty good from what I've heard.

If you have the money to back up that type of swap, by all means... go for it. Although, I'd much rather see you do something with the vette's stock 350, because much can be done with it.

We're starting to stray off course. If you wanna continue the motor swap stuff, you might want to move it to the motor swap board. ALthough, it might get closed there since you have a vette, not a thirdgen. I know corvetteforum has some posts relating to the ls1 swap, though it seems 90% of corvette owners are retarded, i'd take what they say with a grain of salt. Seems like most posts start out with "my mechanic said..." or "my friend did..."..

If you want to continue exploring alternative port EFI manifolds for your c4, please continue the posts.

Yes I was getting off the original post, I hope you don't think I'm one of the 90% there anesthes.LOL I have worked for a liveing as a mechanic, I do all my own work and I put in my own 2 post lift just to make my life easier.
I'm still trying to figure out what would be my best option with this car I don't know much about the computer part of the car,( when I was wrenching on cars for a liveing I never had to mess with the comp. or chip). That is why I'm here becouse there are alot of people here with the knowledge and experiance I need about this type of stuff. I did have 86 Z once but traded it, still have a 79Z but thats easy to work on. And I think your right probably only about half of vette owners work on there owne cars or 90% who no's.
Anesthes how does your mini ram work for you on your c4? Also do you think its a good deal on the one fro sale hear? It has a 58tb, I beleive 40#inj, and he said he wold throw in a mini distrib and coil for 1200.

I would like to hear what you have to say Street Lethal. Sounds like you may have some good ideas for me with the stock 350.

Miniram is sweet. My cam is a little tough to tune, but the intake is nice. I noticed the rear plugs show a little more rich than the fronts, like others have suggested but its ok. For $1200 it's not a bad deal. I saw his pix, does he include some fuel hose too? You'll just need some fuel line adapters from TPIS to go from the 3/8 and 5/16 saginaw, to -6 or whatever his hoses are.
