Thanks for the posting. First time I have viewed the insides of the SLP T Ram. The lower part reminds me of the Holley Stealth Ram.

After viewing the pictures my mind was already figuring how to improve it. Hehehe. I just wish it was legal here in California.

Wow, serious business.

I read on here that those intakes can sell for $2500. Too rich for my blood.

Congrats man.

Nice.
I bet you probably paid $200 for it, that is why you drove out there and got it asap.

So you not going to use the T-Ram? I guess I could see why, it is just a little dissapointing.

Got a pic of those side covers off the plenum? Seems like the air has to make a lot of 90* turns.

I think the 90 degree turn part can be fixed. Need to see pictures though to confirm. Just make the T portion into one big plenum. The rest would be very similiar to the Holley Stealthram. Could even be better than the Holley Stealthram. Just wish it was 50 state legal.

I think he's right that the aftermarket ones sold through Summit and the like werent 50 state legal. Thats a little different than getting an entire engine package in a car through. Out here they dont care much if it has a component or not, if it doesnt match the original, and there's no EO number, its not legal.

Lil' confused on the design of that.
Does the air have to go to the end of the plenum area to get into those outer plenums?
Or is it open somewhere over the top of the rounded runners I can't see in the pics?

Oh yea, Looks like a Kirban regulator on there too!
Saved some $ there.

I think the air gets sucked into the pods on the side and then travels downward to the center of hte intake to the bottom plenum

Dont get me wrong, I love it for it's rareness, and maybe I'm just retarded but it seems like that would be more resitrictive than a TPI setup?

Thanks Madmax. Yes the T-Ram by itself as sold by SLP was not 50 state legal. It would need a CARB number for it to be legal in California. I never mentioned the FireHawk.

I just can't fathom how that is an improvement over the TPI systems. The "runner" length looks just as long, but the air has to make more turns to get to the combustion chamber.

Jade Grey thanks for the posting. Clears things up quite abit. Also confirms my thoughts. I would cut-off the runners at the t portion and just make one big plenum. This would shorten the runners and improve the flow. It would then be sort of a cross between the Accel Super Ram(plenum area) and the Holley Stealthram by the shape and length of the runners. You would have the best of both worlds.

The runners on the T-Ram are probably larger than on the stock TPI as the reason for the increase in power and rpm range.

Forgot to add then have the runners Extrude Honed.

Thankfully I dont live out in Cali I keep forgetting that you guys need a C.A.R.B. for almost any aftermarket part.

Pretty much. Now of course you can go places to get around those types of things from certain people... but then there are times (like always lately) you get to go to a "test only" facility and most of those guys are pretty straight up. I havent seen them test an EGR valve yet though

Its all pretty lame though. I'm about to test the test only waters pretty soon here. Word is you fail there and you can take your car anywhere else for retesting... if that makes any sense at all. So even if I fail, I can later pass because I know where to go.

Ditto!
Couldn't see that central galley for the air flow on the pics.

I think I'd get rid of the whole top section, add bosses to hold the fuel rails, fab up a HSR style plenum and bolt it on.
Super short runners like the mini-ram. Wooo hooo...

The original design looks like they wer trying for the long runner design. That is def better suited for a MAF app than SD. Would have allot of delay with all the plenum volume.
