Anyone tried the edelbrock super victor EFI intake?

As you probably already know, I currently have TBI. Ive done everything Ive wanted to accomplish with it, and it works very well, but Ive been looking for a new and different project. Right now Im having minor issues regulating the pressure with a high flow fuel pump, and rather then spend the $$$ on custom parts to get the fuel pressure in line with the TBI, and then scrap most or all the parts down the road going to MPFI, I figured now is as good a time as any to convert over.

The system I have now is a mid 90's PCM with mass airflow and the TBI sits on top of a high rise carb intake. I was looking and I ran across the super victor EFI vortec intake with fuel rails for $299. It has a long lead time, but the price is right and other then the fuel injectors, itll be a direct swap for my current intake.

Anyone tried this setup? How easy (or hard) is the install? I already have a walbro 255 HP and the PCM can drive the injectors in batch fire mode, so that should just be a matter of snipping off the old connectors and putting in the injector harness. It seems like the fuel rail will be most of the work. What type of fittngs to these typically use? AN? They just list it as 'pipe threads' in the instructions.

Also, does anyone make good aftermarket regulators with 1:1 pressure reduction vs. manifold pressure? If theyre not too much, Ill probably go with that. My other thoughts where to perform the compensation in the software and just use a standard regulator at a constant pressure.

Yes, probably pipe threads into the rails, then has the AN end for the braided line.

The only thing I can think of is one of those voltage regulators like the one Aeromotive makes for their pumps. They either raise, or lower the voltage, as per the RPMs the engine is turning. Like having the pump not work as hard while cruising around town, as to WOT conditions. The must be wired in, and are pretty expensive. I run the Aeromotive A1000 with out the voltage box. Not sure if this is what you mean.

Sorry, I see you were referring to manifold pressure. Maybe the lines might have a sharp bend in them somewhere, and along with a "strong" pump is causing the pressure issues?

I was mainly wondering what the best regulator to use would be. The 1:1 reduction is in reference to the fuel pressure compensation needed for the manifold vacuum (I said pressure by mistake). I assume that most MPFI regulators have the vacuum reference?

For a port setup, I'd decide how you want to plumb it first.
There are several ways to do it and it will change based on which regulator you use. Some are NPT and some are o-ring seal at the regulator ports. Some come with fittings and some don't. That's assuming the money spent on all the fittings are an issue. I like Aeromotive personally. The 13105 or 13109 models. Or maybe something from Kirban just to be different. The Mallory 4305M is the cheapest but I found a few posts on idle FP instability from people trying them over on the turbo mustang boards. They stepped up to a Weldon usually. Which is what I'd use if the planets ever align for my boosted motor.
