LT1 intake and intake tube

What did you LT1 intake conversion people do for a intake tube?

Mine hits the belt tensioner and almost touches the serpentine belt.

Re: LT1 intake and intake tube

Anyone with a LT1 intake, please help.

Being that the mini-ram is very similar, I am sure the mini-ram guys could help as well.

lb9gta,

Do you mean something like this;

If so you can probably have a muffler shop fab up one for you with a bung for the mani temp sensor.

Re: LT1 intake and intake tube

I tried using ABS pipe, unfortunately they don't make a 3.5" pipe

Would a newer lt1(93 and up) work for me? Does the intake tube direct over to the passenger side like mine?

Re: LT1 intake and intake tube

lb9gta,

I can't see why not. The tubing is simply aluminum with a bung welded in. All you should have to do is get a coupler to fit on to your throttle body. Some say that these aluminum pieces tend to get hot through the heat of the engine. If this is something that you are worried about too then an abs tube would work or the best would be one made out of carbon fiber but those are tough to nail down.
I'd like to find one myself !!

It should work out just fine over the passenger side like yours is now.

Re: LT1 intake and intake tube

I ended up using ABS pipe.
It's ok and works but I'll have to get something better in the future
