HSR Power

What is your best HP with your HSR and 1/4mi times? I'm thinking about changing from my Super Ram to a HSR.

Re: HSR Power

see this thread for combos and ET's, power numbers, etc

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/alte...sr-combos.html

based on your combo, i dont know if you'd gain all that much by goin to a stealth ram. probly abit more hp up top end, possibly letting you rev out another 500 rpms which is nice but you'll lose some torque. That cam isnt all that big for superam so i think what you have now is a nice combo. superram does support 5500 rpms in a 355 and that cam seems to want to make power to 5500-6000, in that range, so i think superram may leave abit of power up top but its hard to say.

Re: HSR Power

My peak HP is 373rwhp @ 5200 and 411rwtq @ 4400. I want to at least peak this thing up to 6200 to 6500. I know the restriction is in the manifold. You can only go so far with the porting. I can always swap it off when time for smog every 2 years.

Re: HSR Power

Your cam would like a HSR. And if you dont mind the intake swap for smog every two years then go for it.

Re: HSR Power

Wow...thats alot of rwhp for a 355 tpi motor! It's Almost hard to believe. Was nitrous involved?
I would be suprised if a 355 HSR made that with the same setup. It definately wont make that much torque.
I ran 12.16 @ 112 with 316rwhp.

Re: HSR Power

thats alot of rwhp
Yeah; those famous "West Coast" dynos the magazine articles for some reason prefer to use too!!

Yes you'd ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO swap intakes to be smog legal. The HSR will instantly fail the visual, especially in an "enhanced" area like yours, for not having an EGR valve.

Re: HSR Power

I'm debating on it. I'll have to see what my new numbers will be when I get this thing back together before I go to a HSR.

Re: HSR Power

Less parasitic loss with his t5 than with a 700r4 too. But with his build sheet he should be 400+ on the motor assuming the cam's a hydraulic roller. That rwhp doesn't suprise me much at all. Sounds like a pretty well balanced package. If it is a hydraulic roller you might try a rev kit like the ones AFR sells, http://airflowresearch.com/hydra_rev.php then you may be able gain a bit of power and keep your smog legal status.

I made 480.1 at the crank N/A with my HSR on a 406.
