Alternative Fuel Rail Kit to the TPIS?

Just getting ready to begin finishing my 86 Z28 project that I started 4 years ago (my oldest kid is 4, so the math kind of tells the story). I had purchased a ZZ409 cam and MR intake back then, assembled the engine, and put it in the car. It's a 6" rod 355, ~11.0:1, AFR 190 SH, 1.6 RR, & Hooker full length headers. Sooo, now I need to get all the little expensive stuff to finish up.

I decided to start with collecting all of the fuel system parts and I'm working with a much tighter budget than 4 years ago. Which brings me to my firsts few questions:

1) Is there a less expensive alternative to the TPIS fuel rail kit? If so, can you provide Manufacturer info and part numbers please.

2) What size and brand (recommendations please) fuel injectors would be correct for this combo?

Thanks in advance for any input,

ST

TPIS make there fuel rail kits to fit the products that they make. There isnt any other fuel rail kit out there that would fit there intakes, like there mini ram that i recently installed on my 383. But thats jus to my own nowledge cause TPIS is a company that make there own products. As for the injectors, I suggest accel or venom. most likely either 30 lb or 32 lb injectors. For the accel injectors there the same price but im not sure about the venom ones, i think there a lil cheaper.

Sounds like were running the same combo, execpt mine is a 383 with ported Trick Flow 23* heads. It makes 475 flywheel hp.

I dont know if you can get any other fuel rails to work, but you can plum your own fuel lines. I had TPIS make me some sagnaw to AN-6 fittings and then just made up some steel braided fuel lines. I like it better than what TPIS sells, plus it was a bit cheaper.

I thought the TPIS kit came with steel fuel lines. I just looked on their site and the attached picture is what they show with braided line kit. I like the thought of the braided lines and I have a box of AQ 6AN fittings and hose. I'll give them a call and ask if they will just sell me just the rails & regulator. I already have all the hardware shown in the pic as well.

Thanks for the suggestion!

WOW, its been awhile since I was on TPIS's web site. When I bought my Miniram (back in 2000) the fuel line kit they had back then was some kinda weird mix of the factory rubber fuel lines mixed with some custom bent up hard lines. Kinda looks like TPIS started thinking like I did, LOL.

I like the clean look of yours. I definately want to go with the braided set up.

On a different subject, what chip do you have? How does your combo run?

I burn my own chips, nothing like a wideband and a little dyno time.
