LT1 superram vs tpi superram whats the diff? or is it a typo?

i have found a superram forsale but the guy says its for a lt1.....is he thinkin its for a l-98-tpi or is there really a superram for a lt1 motor? the pics looks like a normal SR. The price is good and i want to jump on this but i have a l-98 motor not an lt1 so i want to make sure on this.

See if he has a pic of the intake manifold.
LT1s are different.
LT1 intake is supposedly better than the SR, but you have to block off lots of things, and do an adapter for the distributor.
Someone who knows this stuff cold should answer soon.
In the meantime, I'd look at some pics, and move ahead.
Good luck.

I've never heard of a Superram intake for an LT1, not saying they don't exist. But there are guys running 9's on a factory intake, it flows plenty. Certainly quite a bit more than a stock TPI intake will.

Note the spacing on the 2 center intake holes.

Appears to be regular SR base drilled with LT1 intake bolt pattern ; still has the dist hole , thermo housing and front coolant passages.
Used with the regular SR plenum and runners although they made a lower height plenum (#74196F ) to fit LT1's in 4th Gen cars.

Buy it and get the center holes redrilled to suit L98?

You are confusing a stock LT1 intake with a stock L98 one. Intake in question is SR base modified to work on LT1 heads.

YES! They did make the SR base that fit the LT-1. The SR that I bought for one of my cars was from a LT car. i sold the lower (LT-1) intake and bought one for a L98. These were made by Lingenfelter and there were very few of them made. They used undrilled castings from Accell and drilled the intake for LT-1 and not L98. the dist hole was plugged along with the t-stat hole.

Here is some pics of the one I had. you can see the holes were never drilled for the L98 and where the holes are drilled for the LT
