Edelbrock pro-flo EFIintake manifold
Edelbrock pro-flo EFIintake manifold
I may have found something cool, Not sure if it has already been discussed but if not I would like to start.
The Edelbrock pro-flo EFIintake manifold looks like it would be a kick *** replacement for the l98 TPI units. At only $409 it is a better value then the TPIS mini ram. Has anyone ever used on to replace the tpi intake manifold?
It comes in cast, polished or black powdercoated.

I've used a few of them (LSx throttle body) on my conversions.

2) No, drive by wire is a vette (ybody) specific thing, and you don't want it.

Re: Edelbrock pro-flo EFIintake manifold
From my research you just have to put the LSx style connectors on the TPS and the IAC onto your harness, the TPI computer will operate the IAC and the LSx TPS runs on 5v just like TPI one. The main problem is the TB linkage is on the pass side of the LSx TB vs being on the driver side of the TPI/LT1 TB. The stock throttle cable doesn't work. I dont recall ever coming across a solution, I didn't look very hard though.

Yep LSx pigtails spliced into TPI harness will run IAC/TPS sensors just fine. As far as cable for TB goes, just need to do what Anesthes said or get a 4th gen fbody cable...its alot longer and may need looped or run around the back of the engine to take out the slack.

I would think the holley rail kit would work, but hard to say. Front crossover looks like it would

I have an super victor vortec efi. I tryed the holley rails and the injector spacing and mounting holes are a little off. I don't think they are close enough to use.

Re: Edelbrock pro-flo EFIintake manifold
Really? I've yet to see a drive by wire truck. Cool. I had a '07 chevy that was drive by wire too.. Sold it in '09.
This must be it:
http://cgi.ebay.com/2003-07-Vortec-7...item35a627bc84
I think the 99-02 5.3 throttle bodies are the ones to use, and the fbody ones.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LS1-L...Q5fAccessories
$109 is not a bad price for a ported one. I think the last stock one I bought (from a truck) was $65, and it measured out to be 76mm at the choke point.

I say the pro products ones are a great option also because they are $210 and do come with everything you need and a regulator. Probably the cheapest and most flexible option.

I have it, not sure how it will work but we'll see soon. Can't really say much more but it will hopefully show up in a mag soon.

Re: Edelbrock pro-flo EFIintake manifold
The holley adj kit is $240. The alumunin/clear finish ones are $135 of summit. pretty cheap for a pair of rails IMO. Most people want to run the regulator they choose,ie aeromotive or what not. No cross over, ok, Peice of hard line or 2 fittings and a piece of steel braided line and that is taken care of. Then it is setup the way you want functionally instead of the way the kit has it setup for a different manifold. Also look at the failure rate of the adjustable one that comes with the holley rails. I have seen a few post about the fact that they fail, well enough to turn me off to that regulator anyway.

Re: Edelbrock pro-flo EFIintake manifold
What are you talking about? Are you looking at the hi flow tpi setups? I couldnt find anything for the proflow intake on summit other that the rails for $117 and that is also the only part # edelbrock gives, which is actually cheaper than I remeber them being. Do you have a link to all these fuel rail kits you found, I would appreciate it. Heres a link to all I could find

Here is the holley stealth ram kit, I have no idea if the rails will work or not because I have never put any effort into the research.

As for the edelbrock rails, I appologize I think I posted the ones for the LSx version of the intake. So your link is correct, so a bit cheaper as you stated.
The professional products rails I was refering to was the SBC kit.

I guess there is not a guarantee that the injector spacing is exact, but I don't see how it could differ much. Has any one proved that this rail does not work? I guess edelbrock could be contacted to get the injector spacing to see if these would work since the professional products website has the specs for the rail listed.

What kinda power does this intake put out? what is it compareable to??
Looks like it would be a good option for those with vortec heads...

Asked edelbrock about the power potential... 450 max. Doesn't seem like a real anwser to me. They wouldn't give me any flow numbers.

Re: Edelbrock pro-flo EFIintake manifold
450 is their official rating with the injectors the EFI kit comes with. With 30lb/hr the rating goes to something like 650.
That is not the rating of the manifold. I also know that for a fact and I can't say anything more than that for the time being.
