HSR w/MAP sensor code after instal
Hello friends,
I've had my car inactive for about 7 years but I've missed it and decided to get it running again.
I've just had a HSR installed to replace the aftermarket TPI set-up. Got a prom from PCMforless.com(EGR and A.I.R delete). My current combo: HSR, 52mm TB, ZZ4 short block, LT4 hot cam, AFR 190cc heads, 25lbs LS1 injectors.
I'm getting a SES for MAP sensor code and the bird runs erratic, surges in power. Basically undrivable. Installed a new MAP sensor and the same thing.
My question is does the distance of the relocated MAP sensor matter?
I mean the length of the vacuum hose and wires to the MAP matter?
Scan tool shows everything OK at idle but when I give it gas under load the SES for MAP comes up.
I tried to do a search but no luck. Any and all input is welcome.
Thanks in advance
Mike
P.S. I've got an exhaust leak from the flange at the headers, if that's relevant.

Re: HSR w/MAP sensor code after instal
Granted this thread is a bit old and your problem is probably solved but I had a similar issue with a chip from PCMforless.com. I had a speed sensor code. I took the chip out and it ran much better and the code went away. It didn't run great but i could drive it. I just took it to get dyno tuned and had it done right.
