Want to go HSR, starting from a carb'd 406?

Hello All,

I am looking to buy a new project car, and one of the cars I have in mind currently has a carb'd 406 in it. The car was no originally carb'd, so I am assuming that the wiring harness was stripped down (all of the gauges still work though). How much of a hassle would it be to take it back to EF using a HSR?

Thanks!

Just need a TPI based computer and wiring harness, and all the sensors that motor would normally use.

Mount the ECM in the car and then just hook up the harness.

If your factory gauges still work thats a good thing. Less work you have to do.

being an 88 it would be a MAF based car. I dont know if you have any of the wiring left or not, but i'd get a new 165 ecm from a 86-89 TPI car and the MAF sensor. Use what you can from your original wiring if there, or just get a new complete harness from one of the MAF tpi cars. Then just need a 89 6E based memcal/chip and start tuning for the 406.
