I had been eyeballing that one some time ago, price is too stiff IMO as it would need a good cleaning and a new top plate to make it look half decent

That one has been on ebay on and off for at least a year. Its way overpriced, and it looks like the plenum has been dropped too far down around the runners. even if you made a new flat top plate for it, I think the entrance of the runners dont have enough distance to the plenum roof. I think I read you need 2.5x the runner diameter for clearance. The low lid would probably also cause a lot of inconsistency in port flows.

What do you mean you don't see how it would work?
It looks like it would work, but would have the same crappy air distribution that HSR's have. $500 is too steep. For $100 it would be worth playing with.
