In-Tank Fuel Pump advice

I'm going to be installing a FAST EZ-EFI system into my '91 Camaro for my 383 Stroker. I'm looking for a good quality in-tank pump to replace my factory pump. I want something that's going to get the job done for the 500hp but also isn't going to whine and scream like i've got a jumbo jet living in my gas tank. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to use?

you may want to look at the walbro 340 or comparable aeromotive pump. they'll flow what you need for those demands and then some.

Hi,

Does anybody know is this Aeromotive Stealth fuel pump 11140 suitable in tank assembly to my car Pontiac Firebird Trans Am GTA 1987? What is difference about this Aeromotive 11141 fuel pump exactly?

How much this aeromotive Stealt Pump could produce horse power?

Now I have Holley HLY-12-903 fuel pump in tank and it doesn't flow enough, that seems to be like almost WallBro fuel pump.
Now I have 520HP on rear wheel. My car is Paxton supercharged with 13PSI boost.

Does anyone have this Aeromotive fuel pump? Is this OK?

I used the 11140 pump, but the 11142 one would have worked out a little better I think.

I can't say whether it would be enough fuel for you or not since I'm making much less power.

I have understood that 11142 is in line pump. So it doesn't work in line without fuel line modifications?

But this 11140 (in tank version) seems to give 30% more flow than Holley HLY-12-903 fuel pump.
If this fit in tank then this could be the solution.

I don't think that's what it means. I think the outlet is lined up with the inlet, not that it's an "inline" pump.

I use a pump from a turbo Toyota Supra. It's not a direct bolt in, but can go in a third gen tank with a little fab work. It has proven to be a very reliable & super quiet pump. I had a 255 Walbro, and it couldn't keep up on the dyno. The engine would go lean at about 5000 rpm. The Toyota pump would supply enough to go to 6600 rpm, never ran it any higher than that. The engine is a LS1 that made 420 RWHP. Rock Auto has the pump, part #9500155.

As already mentioned, the Toyota Supra pump is a good choice. I tossed a Walbro in the trash and installed the Supra Turbo pump in my 87 GN. No problem with fuel delivery volume or pressure. A near drop in. Will just fit in the hole, and have a non stock sock filter set up. Not rocket science. Get a hot wire kit, as the factory wiring is too light to power the big pump! Aeromotive makes a good one they did a shoot out between the 3 pumps. Supra one is quite a bit bigger than the walbro and areomotive.With the new aeromotive pump why even bother with fitting that supra pump in your sender. At 500 hp the walbro is still capable and then some. Areomotive and walbro are plug and play, denso is not. I never understood the hot wire kit to the sender. Since you cant even upgrade the gauge of the sender to pump wires in the tank I dont understand 10-12 gauge feed with a 16 gauge pump feed wire. You really dont start dropping volts until you get over 15 feet. You can make your own hot wire kit for a couple of bucks.Use the pump turn on wire from your fast to switch a 5 dollar relay. Run power from battery or back of altenator to feed 12v on relay.Feed pump with relay when fast ecu switches the relay on. Cheaper than the racetronix. I would definatly fuse 12v to relay though. I've never understood those $100+ boost a pump wiring kits either. I mean, I know there's some voltage drop from the relay to the pump, and I know some of them actually up the voltage to the pump, but it still seems like a band aid to me. I'll be using a Bosch relay and some 12ga wire when I relocate the battery to the back though. As I said before, I'm happy with my aeromotive 340.

i have a 91 fbird with a new 350 bottom end. rebuilt ho 305 heads and a 305 tbi system 700r trans and 3.73 rear end. running 93 oct. how much hp power would one say i can make with this? and how do i start my own thread? kinda new to this site

Really not much more than stock if you are running the factory cam and tune. Prob 225 @ the crank.

The Racetronix set up replaces the wiring to the pump, including the bulkhead connector. Not a splice job down to 16 guage wiring. My experience with the Buick GN set up wasn't bad. On those cars, some folks were having problems with the big pumps overheating and burning the stock wiring. Poke your head in at the TurboBuick.com site and check it out. Tons of info, and debate, on the fuel pump issue. Oldtimer.
