iac passage noise

My holley 4bbl, the iac passage at idle whines so loud it sounds like a big roots blower. If I give it a little throttle the air goes to the throttle blades and the sound goes away.

Anyone ever experience this harmonic noise from the iac passage on a 4bbl throttle body? When I say it's loud I mean, can be heard in the next town over..

Re: iac passage noise

Had the same issue with a BBK 58mm T-body. Its the angle of the blades and the way the air goes between it and the bore housing.
I put a small groove in the edge of the blade with a file and it helped a little bit.

I think mine is actually coming out of the iac passage as opposed to the throttle blades, but I could be wrong. I'll tinker more tomorrow.

Either way, it's stupid loud.
