C5R Heads

On Musclecar this morning they were at a school (SAM) in Houston, TX and they CNCd some C5R Edelbrock blank heads and got well over 400 CFM out of them. They put the motor together and got 680 or 780HP (I forgot) on pump gas and completely streetable. The ports looked like a BBC oval port except they were LS heads and were high port as stated by them. It was extremely impressive. They used a LSX block and did all the machine work including all the fancy stuff. The heads were very impressive and they made there EFI intake for it as well. They guys wife was going to put the motor in her 99 Z28. This school trains machinist to work at other companies and race shops. If I were a teenager again I would do that. They encourage the kids to bring there cars and projects in and work on them.

Re: C5R Heads

The SAM school builds some awesome stuff. N/A too. They took an all motor Camaro to the Texas Mile and went 200 with it.

Re: C5R Heads

I think those heads are around 1200-1500 each, maybe. The C5R block is 7,000 bare. Shallow pockets need not apply.
