I just swapped from a TPI to the HSR now it wont start. I have spark and fuel pressure. The fuel pressure is at like 25lbs while cranking. The big question is I eliminated the cold start injector could that be the cause? Or I just dont have my timing right yet. Maybe a tooth off.. Stock ECM for now.

Ok just moved all the plug wires counter clockwise 1 notch now it at least back fires a little. I think I am 180 out on the distributor. Ill be removing it in the AM to double check. I also readjusted the fuel pressure and got it up to 45.

 

Not really a intake question ; should be in the engine dept

Pointless trying anything until you have confirmed the timing is correct.

No CSI may mean longer crank time but will not prevent it starting if everything else is set correct

 

It was the timing. I did have it 180 out. Fired right up. They definitely dont give you much room to work on the distributor. Or adjust the fuel pressure.

 

When you eliminated the CSI, if you didn't reprogram for that,,, you'll eventually need to. Mine cranked with little to no trouble until it got in the 40s - then it took multiple attempts.

 

I have not reprogrammed for anything yet. The ECM is completely stock. I have a Holley commander on the way so that will help. It does run pretty good as is though.
