You have to much time and money on your hands. But that is one sweet looking motor.Adding the blower is going to make for an insane motor.Keep up the good work,Steve

Re: the test fit of parts
I'm having a challenge just putting money away for a new engine build. Hopefully by the end of this summer, I'll have made some real progress. I plan to be ready to move on the build in two years.
Fortunately, I did a major redo on the car with aftermarket programmable EFI and alot of really great upgrades back in 1999-2000. That was only 35,000 miles ago and everything is still in great shape.
Since then I've installed excellent new brakes from Fly-N-Bye and last year I built what I think is a pretty bullet proof transmission with the help of Dana and Probuilt Automatics.
The engine I built in 99 is a good solid motor, it made nice showing at the track last fall for a little TPI 350, making easy work of a line of well built muscle cars and an LS1 Vette, twice in a row. It's just time for an upgrade. Plus, I did cut corners, using a budget rotating assembly and the factory block. It still runs strong, thanks in large part to Archie Somers' excellent machine work and ARP studs throughout, but it will never be the motor I really want it to be.
Of course I say this now. I actually haven't got the Beasty out of the garage for the summer yet. Waiting for consistently good weather. When I do, I'm sure it will excite me again like it does every spring. Still, I want it to be faster.
I don't have anything as wild as your V1 blown 427 in mind. Just a solid 500+ hp(maybe 540ish?) 406, really well put together from a Dart block and forged internals strong enough to handle much more(in case I decide to get more serious in the future). Along with precision machining by my friend Archie to be sure it all lasts a good long time.
I mean it's only money right? By the time I'm done, including all the work up to now, I'll have close to 50K invested in this car. For the performance value it will have, compared to that of a new car, and the shear joy of driving something I built with my own hands, it's a bargain. Just try to convince my wife of that.

Re: the test fit of parts

I know... right. Seems I have all the fun shopping..then when it comes to putting it together there's no motivation.this redo project what started 5 years ago..
As for what intake...this is the 2nd one I picked out for this build. the first one is the Accel program..but in the last month Racing head service came out with a EFI single plane intake...
got a steal of a deal on this polished one and fuel rails $400..at that time the program changed. and it went from cast aluminum finish to all chrome and polish. So now the accel intake sits in its box.
