The easiest and surest way to make sure you get it right is to just take one off and measure it. After all, you're probably spending a lot of money on new rims. Take the wheel off and lay it flat, face down on the ground. Lay a piece of metal, wood, whatever straigt across the back of the rim (the outermost edge, where the weights are attached). Then simply take a tape measure or ruler and measure straight down from that cross piece to the inside mounting surface of the wheel (the surface the lug bolts go through). That's your backspacing. Any reputable tire and wheel shop should be able to do this for you, and to check clearances with steering linkage and the like (which is especially important if you are changing wheel diameters). It's also a good way of finding out the attitude of your wheel technician people. You don't want to give two or three grand worth of tire and wheel business to someone who is not going to really take the time to get it RIGHT!
