Stupid questions, Solid wheels, and light blackouts

Lemme go ahead and majik marker "Newbie" on my forehead....there, wait, let me add "Extremely" and "Raw" to that statement... done. Now...

First question, I've got my heart set on some taillight blackouts, but where can I find the best prices on those coolio headlight blackouts? Annnd, would they require an alternate form of air intake? Since my thus far stone stock 305 sucks air from the headlight indentions?

Second question, does anyone in here have one of those bizarre Notchback hatch replacement things? If so would he or she be willing to post some pix? I personally think they look kinda cool, (and wierd and unique and esoteric, and mostly just different). Although I'm collegeing on weekdays and only working weekends so I seriously doubt I'll be shelling out $700 for one anytime soon, or even fixing the rather dinged up Teal paint on my RS anytime soon, I'd still love to see one.

Third question, I have a serious crush on solid wheels, ala Center Line drag wheels, (or in my case, the cheaper version of center line drags). And I was all set to get me some with appropiately sized rubber to match, but someone... several someones' in fact, told me the lack of holes cause your brakes to heat up and wear out madd quick. This makes perfect sense, but is it as bad as they say? I drive about twenty miles to school and back during the week, to work on weekends, and all over the place weekend nights, so my cah sees a lot of standard traffic conditions. I had brief, twisted notions of rigging up some piping from the holes in the ground effects around to the brakes to cool them, is this a viable tactic? Or a delusional fantasy?

I appreciate everyone's tolerance.

I imagine tailight blackouts can be purchased from www.jegs.com or www.summitracing.com as for the notchback pix, try clicking on the search button up there in the upper right and searching for it, you'll probobly get alot more pics that way. As for the question about braking with solid wheels, I imagine that question would be best asked in the Brake section of the tech boards... might even try searching for that, maybe someones already asked.

Your newb-ness if forgiven, just don't be a newb again

Welcome to the boards!

In regards to the Center Line Drags. I had those on my first car. A 82 Camaro Berlinetta I had 15X8.5 in the front and 15X12 in the back at least i think they were 15X12. anyway lets just say they had a backspacing where they would almost rub the wheel well in the back and still stick out 1 1/2 inches. I loved those rims. And plan on purchasing a set for my next project car. I never had a problem with the brakes heating up. and I droe that car everywhere. i put over 33,000 miles with no break problems except a lil brake dust. I love the way they look on third gens also. was thinking of getting them for my car and going super huge over the winter when i tub my rear. Time will tell if i have my car by them hopefully will unless someone offers me a good trade or some good money. My opinion is go for the Drags and keep them verry clean. with a 6 inch dish in the back it was a pain in the *** to keep clean

Damn everyone's cars look tight! I'll have to insert a pic, (just as soon as I have something worth looking at.)

Well the drag wheel lowdown is a relief, that had been a major part of my "concept" and I hated to let go of the idea. I will run a search for pix, (and prolly pick up some styling ideas that way too). And I appreciate the welcomez.

As for the newb status, it gets a little better each day. Thanks to my 'maro's tolerence for poking, prodding, and fondling

Peace out folks.

Does anyone have pics of a 3gen with AutoDrags? I'm thinking about putting some on.
