How to keep a red car red in the Arizona sun

I have no idea what or where this paint job came from, and I know nothing about painting cars. It's got some runs in it, they painted over my 3rd brake light, the tires got a little bit of red on em, etc...

When I use polish on it, I take off the red paint, so I assume I have a single stage paint job. My problem is that it's starting to fade a little bit. Is there anything I can do to either get it back to a deeper red, or keep it from turning pink?

You "might", key word there, be able to get it color wet sanded. Since this might be a single coat paint job that may be out of the question though. If so, just use a good wax and pray to the paint gods.

You know I have seen your car a lot around kolb. I live right around irvington and kolb so I'm always driving up and down it. You might have seen my car, oxidizing sunspotted hood and dark green paint that looks pretty good from afar! LOL! I make it sound worse than it is. Eric

Hopefully a paint shop guy will give a little help here. I think it's something about the paint pigments in red generally. Even in the UK a lot of red cars over 10 years old (and south facing red doors on buildings) go that horrible dusty matt salmon pink. I don't have a garage, but in the (few and far bewteen) period of prolonged sunshine I keep it under a cover.

BTW, the straps holding the cover down are red, and they are already faded!!!

Sorry if this doesn't actually progress you post, just my tuppence ($0.2c) worth.
