Paint Prep

I'm currently restoring a 86 camaro and we're hoping to get it into primer Saturday or Sunday, however, for preping the paint, all I was doing was using 150 grit sand paper and going over it until everything was nice and feathered out. Now I am reading that I should be wet sanding w/ 220. Any suggestions? Would the primper stick to the preped car w/ the dry 150?

Hey i worked at a body shop all last summer, and i know that 150 is WAY TO ROUGH before you apply paint!! I would go over it with at least some 400 or maybe even 300!

Primer

But I'm not painting it yet, I'm only putting on the primer. and with 150, hand sanded, it is pretty smooth. I don't know, please give me your opinion.

Go ahead and primer the surface now then after your done Primering, block sand the surface using guide coat with 400. After the surfaces are straight, you are ready to shoot the paint.
