Paint question
Paint question
I recently had two more parts of my car repainted (driver door/fender) thing is, and it's bothering the H$ll out of me, is that the door and the fender are the wrong shade of silver.
Now, I've bugged the crap out of this place time and again, and everyone is telling me to leave the place alone....I think they should have done it right the first time....
How many of you would go back down there and request that the parts be repainted the proper shade of silver?

Color matching silver is very hard to do compared to other colors. Air pressure, paint mix, temperature, paint gun adjustments, distance from gun to surface are some of the things that can effect the outcome of how it looks. Was the car there at the shop so they could match it to that? or did you just take the parts over?
A shop here in town painted a panel 2 times before they match a silver paint job. The customer was picking it up later that day and when they pulled the car outside, they noticed the difference then pulled it back in. Busted thier asses to try and get it right and got it out looking good with a couple hours to spare.

Standard practice for any good auto body shop is to "Blend" the paint onto the next adjacent panel. In your case the fender should have been blended onto the hood and front bumper and the door should've been blended onto the quarter panel. This shop obviously does not do quality work and I would not want them to touch my car anymore. I'd take them to small claims court if they're not willing to do it right.

I actually had the entire car in the shop for a few days......*sigh* this is frustrating, I'm the only one who really cares about it, my Mother is telling me to leave it alone....I still think i'll mention it to them...thank you for your responses : )
