Camaro Car Ramps???

Hey guys I got new rims and tires now and my old
Ramps don't work to change oil because my new
rims and tires are to wide. Does anyone know of a place
that makes ramps for camaros??? THing is they would
have to be longer so it would be a more gradual ramp
so the bumper would not hit.... I suppose I can weld
some up if nothing else.. How do all u guys change ur
oil or do you have someone do it for u??

no access to a good lift at a shop......do the next best thing and use some 2x4's and a jack.

Get some 2x8s or 2x10s or even 2x12s if your tires are really fat! I've been using some my father-in-law built many years ago. I need to figure out a way to make two-part ramps for the rear wheels so I can raise the car level. It sits so low that I think I'll make the ramps sorta like horizontal building blocks...

I don't have access to a lift. Wish I did. I guess bottom
line is I will have to make my own out of wood or
metal. I wanted some kinda permanent. You would
think there would be a company out there that made
something like this...

If I could weld I would've made some up in the same angle steel the ramps are made from. I asked the wood yard to cut me some 4x8 at the required angle to match the ramps, at around 4 feet long. Just make sure to put some bolts thru or something to make sure they dont move off the ramps. Having said that, I manage to change the oil OK just using a jack and stands. (I needed the ramps for the damn plugs!!!!)

I don't know how wide your wheels are but I'm running 16x8's and using ramps that I picked up at auto zone. They are made of reinforced plastic and have a low slope on the inclined part which allows the front ground effects to clear. I think the company that makes them is called rhino. Somebody told me you could get them at wal-mart too. They have always worked fine for me.

I just did my oil yesterday. I just jacked the car up, in the front until the wheels came just about off the ground. Had no problems at all, however I do not have ground effects.

Another solution is just to use jack stands, like everyone else said, or to just jack up one tire at a time and then put blocks under the tire, then let the car sit up on the blocks. Seems simple to me.

Yeah, Rhino Ramps. They work great, I have had mine for years, when they were first available by mailorder only and cost $60! Now they are made by Blitz USA and can be bought for under $30. And they have been improved, since they now have rubber feet and won't move when driving up on them. Mine don't, and will skid on smooth concrete, so I use a rubber pad underneath them but the new ones don't require that. They are rated for 12,000 lbs so they are plenty strong. I have used mine on a 3/4 ton van conversion as well as my Dodge truck.

Well, they work fine on my lowered Formula. My ramps measure 40" long x 12" wide.
