oh yah also, get them tinted because if your car sits as low as mine which is does and those stupid *** trucks get behind u at night and those lights are beaming right at your eye level, Tint eliminates that completely.. Plus it looks extra cool, especially on red cars for "some reason"

Hey, MG86TA, why would you want to get rid of the GTA wheels? I think they look much better than my convex snowflake wheels. The only reason I haven't ditched them already is because they're 16x8 (good size) and I don't have money for 17s! The black diamond spoke look is so much cooler, tho, IMO.

The tint looks good guys. What's the legal limits on the side and back windows? Is there a limit on the back?

Later,
Chris

MG86TA,

if your's is red can you send me some pix.

As for the naming of parts, "hood" and "trunk" I am doing on a regular basis, as opposed to "bonnet" and "boot". "Fenders" I can also do ("wings" in English), but what caught me out was the reference to "rocker panels". "Rocker covers" in English, is "Valve covers" is US, "Rocker panels" in US means diddly in English!

Apart from that, I think most other terminolgy is OK in translation. (Apart from a "back scuttle"...don't ask)

I will take some tomorrow when i go to the shop to put the finishing touches on my engine.. just rebuilt the 305.

In response to the GTA Wheels they aren't black.. If they were black i would concider keeping them.. but sooner or later im gonna upgrade to a 17in rim.. When i have the money that is.. At least with these formula rims i can polish them really good to make em shine.. Just like my car hehe =] Im not bent on speed, im stuck on looks

Just found out today that more than 35% on the side windows is now illegal in the UK.

I probably could find a guy willing to do more, but it'd fail the MOT (annual vehicle and emmision inspection for ALL cars in the UK over 3 years old!).

CustomX,
Is the windshield also tinted?

How low can you go where you live?

No the windhsheild is not tinted.

Here you can go as low as you want as long as the rim isnt covered by the fender while driving.

Looks like Texas says that I can have as low as 5% light pass through the rear window, and the passangers have to have 35%.

On that website, it says:
Windshields may be tinted down to the AS1 line.
What's the AS1 line? Also, after that it says:

Passenger Cars: No aftermarket window tinting may be applied to the windshield.
So... am I allowed to tint the front windshield at all? Or can I tint it down to the AS1 line, whatever that is?

I really need to get a pic of mine on the computer, but anyway in california, you can go as dark as you want on the back, provided that you have 2 side mirrors, left and right. if you have single side windows you may be allowed to put a little tint on there, but the general rule is that you can't obstruct the view of the side mirrors. If you have a 4 door or splitt windows on the sides the rears can me tinted according to the rules for the rear window.
